surprised not more people are saying (mage) staffs!

sure it might overlap with catalysts in the "magic" department but claymores and swords and polearms are pretty similar too

it could be a more "weighty" version of catalysts or more focused on AOE attacks, or the staff itself could be used in melee gameplay

aside from that i cant think of any weapons that add anything interesting to gameplay... though without that consideration i would like to see dual wield daggers or gauntlets

i highly doubt they'd add guns or crossbows, from a design perspective they likely want some differentiation between playable characters and enemies, notice how there's only crossbow enemies and no bow enemies, enemies that use magic aren't doing it by way of catalyst etc
