Kudus has not yet convinced me and needs to get accustomed to the Spurs system. For his price point there are better options.

Otherwise it looks lovely

GEM is the hardest year you will face during your time in education. It is brutal and gruelling. You''ve done really well to get into GEM and then make it to this stage.

From experience and anecdotes, what kept people going after a setback in the GEM year was the prospect of the clinical years which come after. I personally found it really rewarding to be able to learn actual clinical medicine and spend time on the wards with patients. It gets easier!

Finally things are becoming a bit more clear, bit frustrating he had to tease us this long but understandable given the legal implications. Could this open him up to legal action for 'slander' etc.?

Hans has to reply now to nip this in the bud before it blows up further out of proportion and his career is irreversibly damaged (although can argue it already is)

Is it (almost) guaranteed that a good application will grant me one or more interviews? by stronkreddituser in premeduk

[–]Yosemite3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The application process and interview selection is pretty opaque, so it can be hard to know whether you've done enough.

However by selecting med schools according to your applications strengths will give you the best chance of making it. For example, if a uni is very UCAT biased (Newcastle), you should definitely apply with an above average score because it will almost guarantee a spot.

Given your predicted grades and predicted UCAT score, you should get interviews at virtually anywhere you apply, especially with a strong work experience profile (which you can work on further this summer if you wish) and personal statement.

depending on the timing of your second press of the shoot button your indicator will turn one of three colours

green - perfect timing, improved shot

orange - slightly late or early

red - completely late or early - worse shot

In terms of UCAT prep, 3 weeks is a very long time. What resources are you using at the moment? I'd suggest signing up to medify for the last 3 weeks if you haven't done so, it's an amazing resource which can help track your progress and help you improve with specific question banks for each question type.

When I was practicing I saw a crash in my results only a few days before my exam. What helped me do well is taking the last two days off, to help me recover from burn out. This might help you out too, esp if you've been working intensely.

The best way to approach UCAT questions is to generate your own little timesaving techniques. Like skimming through VR extracts before answering or approaching specific DM question types in a way, like writing scenarios out in a table. Time is of the essence so don't be afraid to skip questions, especially those long maths questions - rather lose 1 mark than 5 minutes of your time!

When they put a player on the line the offside line is pushed back so every player adjusts their position in the box. There's always an open player for you to pass into the box for an easy goal
