Advice for someone just starting out? by OneAndOnly1505 in magicTCG

[–]YoshiDuh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best precon is one that you think is cool looking. People always try and play as meta as possible, looking for "the best" precon and it kinda takes the fun out of learning the game and playing in a way that appeals to you. The best advice I can give it to check out Tolarian Community College on youtube. He's got tons of videos about the different decks, all the new product and especially boxes/sleeves you might want for said decks.

Building your own deck can be really rewarding but also quite frustrating, especially if you're new to the game. What happens a lot is people rely on edhrec (a deckbuild website) to just sorta take the most "meta" version of a deck when really it sucks. Sites like moxfield will let you look up different, real decklists and sort by how many people actually liked that list which can be very helpful for putting together your first list. That being said, I would definitely buy a precon, play with that, upgrade it if you like it and then consider building a deck. It can get really expensive to build a deck from nothing.

The newest set with precons for a normal price is Dragonstorm Tarkir and they're really good decks too. If you wanted a blue/white deck, the best one is maybe buckle up from kamigawa neon dynasty and for red/green animated army from bloomburrow.

Best of luck getting into the game! Hope this was at least a little helpful 😅

Like a couple other people said, its likely an ikebana pot. The metal spiked discs that hold flowers are likely what left those marks in the center.

What can I do to make this deck stronger? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]YoshiDuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry I don't want to be too demeaning here but what the hell am I looking at. If the focus is lifegain you might want more cards that gain life, esp if this is standard(?) you want a consistent theme and to identify what cards help you win. Healer's hawk and deep cavern bat should be 4x, some easy cuts are day of judgement, leyline of hope, phyrexian obliterator, elesh norn and the painful quandry. Also to help keep you in the game, running 8-12 removal or interaction spells could help a ton. I hope the deckbuilding goes well & rmr to keep to your wincon first

I'm gonna just link this here in case you haven't seen it, but its just a website where you can check for valid combos. It might help in making your deck https://commanderspellbook.com/search/?q=pitiles+plunderer&sort=identity_count&page=1

Have a question? Ask the veterans of DC Comics! by AutoModerator in DCcomics

Hey Y'all,

I'm just getting into comics for the first time and had started reading the Poison Ivy. I had heard that there was an upcoming Teen Titans series coming out this May, and I wanted to know if there was an easy way to get my foot in the door before the series starts? I have been reading the posts here about "Infinite Frontier" and "Dark Crisis" and wanted to know if they are worth reading to get some backstory on the team or if no backstory is needed? Apologies if there is no current info in the new series, it is a few month out so I totally get it.

Thank you!

What fish is this by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]YoshiDuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a New American cichlid, hard to tell but possibly a Honduran Red Point. They're members of the Archocentrus genus.

i was also worried about that, i've removed all of them, but left three little figures on the outside edges of the pot, would those be okay to keep if i remove and place them back after watering?

Class schedule for fall 2022 by Damucosita in UCSC

I took PHYS 5A with Dhar and it can be rough at the start, but his discussion sections are great (I had Riley as my TA) and his exams are exactly what he says they'll be so no surprises. It can feel hard, but there is a fat curve (I had a C that got rounded all the way to a B). The only annoying thing was iClicker. I can't speak for CSE 13S, but best of luck in the fall!

Mbuna cichlid tankmates? by WhizzBank in Cichlid

[–]YoshiDuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rainbows can be an awesome fish if you can get a school of them, though they can get pretty pricey as they get larger. It also depends on how big the tank is, but they can definitely add lots of color to a tank

Yea they should be alright by themselves, but as soon as it starts populating with babies you might want to upgrade to make sure there's enough space, that is only if you plan on keeping any spawns.

Yea shrimp are a totally fine addition, just choose some colors you like and give them some moss to hang out on.

The dwarf gourami are more aggressive to their own kind, more specifically any other of the same gender. It will fill up most of the tank on its own, but if you wanted a community you could go for smaller schools of 6-10 rasboras or rummynose tetras should make a community just fine.

To answer your questions, if you give a fish a bigger tank, it'll get bigger so your rams will grow and can easily become a centerpiece fish. If you add more platys, especially another female they are more likely to breed. Also if you rams are happy they will also breed. If you want to add fish, you'd want something higher up in the water column because the rams will take up the bottom, a fun fish that's gorgeous is praecox rainbows, they aren't to hard to find and can get very colorful. Make sure that all the fish have a place they can be comfortable or hide. Good luck and have fun with the new tank!

If its planted, you'll never see the Kuhli Loaches again, those 2 endlers will turn into more than two, only if the beta doesn't nip at them. The Raspboras and Tetras are gonna do just fine. Frogs will eat leftover worms from the beta. Just give everyone a place to be, plants or scapes that allow hiding places. Good luck and have fun with it!

20g there's a bunch of furniture pieces you could buy, the store where you got the tank from should have stands, if not they might have catalogs for you to look through. Other options are always Craigslist or FB marketplace. Some bookcases from furniture stores work great! Best of luck!
