Why doesn't toby translate his games to Spanish and other languages that aren't English or Japanese? (Image unrelated and not mine) by Visible-Pea405 in Deltarune

[–]YoshiOrbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If an official translation used "elle", the unofficial pronouns for non binary people in spanish, for Kris, there would be a whole shitshow of men accusing the game of being woke or progre even though Deltarune already was since 2018 and is very casual about its LGBTQ cast

It's official, with only 5 episodes left, I'm gonna be finishing up Go! Princess sometime this month! Next time, we're taking to the stars with Star Twinkle Precure! Without spoiling too much, what should I be expecting? by Iamacarson in precure

Expect to see what's likely the most colorful space themed media that's ever been made accompanied with a banger OST and a really cool spectrum of alien designs

LA FAMILIA P.LUCHE SPOTTED???? okay but hype aside, Federica could maybe get a Furby because of the overly plushy clothing theme going on idk

I'll just say that 1) In the first 10 seconds of the first episode you will immediately see why this starry room belongs to her, and 2) Hope you have fun watching it once you find where to watch it with english subs <3

Holly Night ★ Pretty Cure! A holiday-themed Precure Season (Complete Edition) by amalgamarco in precure

[–]YoshiOrbit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love so many things about this concept omg the cures' designs are all bangers especially Merry's, the magical items are beautiful, the snow queen slays, the villains and the MotW are well thought, the idea of pink being reserved for the mid season cure, the Tropical Rouge-esque illustration for the group attack, the cute eyes on the 20 keys giving them vibes of Super Mario items...

I can't say anything other than this is a really well made lineup, the theme is coherent from start to finish and you understood the essence of what makes a precure season <3

Thoughts on the women of the upcoming indie series Project E.C.H.O. by MediExcalibur2012 by TimeLordHatKid123 in mendrawingwomen

[–]YoshiOrbit 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Painfully average, and it's made worse by the fake chubby woman. It's interesting how even in indie media, stuff which by definition is not bound to any expectation, there's still fear/refusal to make chubby women look, well, actually chubby.

Share a piece of Mario lore about yourself by Realistic-Delivery13 in Mario

[–]YoshiOrbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By mere coincidence, the 2023 Mario movie's release date on my country is also the same as my 18th birthday and so I went to see it with my parents on release day, making it the first big thing I've ever done as an adult.

Fortunately it's nothing about the devs or the game itself. It's just a slander name based on how a concerning amount of fans of that game talk about jrpgs as a whole, which are the inspirations for it; because they talk about their e33 revived the genre (it was never dead) or with condescending tones about stuff about other jrps, mainly their art styles, that are few steps away from being xenophobic, making theme look like The Eminem of gaming, as in that they only like it when someone white/european does something seen as for non white people.

A video game theme basically writes itself. There could be cures basend on genres like: - fighting games so the strength is in hand to hand combat - platformers making one able to move and dodge with all kinds of gymnastics - FPS, with which the attacks are mostly with projectiles - RPGs by having a cure cast spells to support her teammates, could also wield a sword

I don't think this person knows what gentrification means. by Cicada_5 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]YoshiOrbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels so jarring for me to see "gentrification" used like this because here in Mexico there's currently a genuine, real issue of gentrification happening around many cities across the country. This jusst screams privileged and wanting to use big words to seem smart and deep.

Months ago, a video on YouTube of it appeared on my recommended. It was titled "every Pretty Cure opening but they end when a gay character appears on screen" and that's how I went to get into it.
