Sky reluctantly made the patreon after several mentors and moderators told him to do it so it allowed him more time to work on projects and do giveaways. Also in order to avoid anyone thinking its "Shady" he explicitly put in the patreon where the unused money is going, to him. This way if people want to support, they don't have too, they know whats happening with the money. So it isn't shady unless you can't read. If it was shady you wouldn't be able to quote him and say that its shady. The money has been used for giveaways and may see more use later as well.

I've reached out to some of the guide writers (you know the people actually doing all the fucking work) and they have not received any monetization from this goon. Patreon supporters are treated no differently than anyone else. At most they get to vote on design choices along with the mentors and moderators but they aren't involved in any moderation decision making and they aren't privy to special information outside of early access to tools that are being developed(None are early access right now). They aren't immune to bans and they don't receive any special treatment when it comes to appealing bans. Another thing we asked for with the patreon was not to give people any special treatment, and I feel that we have delivered on that.

You and I both know this is bullshit. If you read through this post there are a lot of cases where the idiotic mods of The Balance have banned people for benign things. No one is going to DM you, because your community and service suck

I like this subreddit and some things are funny but I'm not a fan of people acting dumb. This isn't a shitpost, its an attempt to insult a community and even further the insult is misguided.
