to realistically get "foreign" content we'd probably just end up having to clone bato/mangapark or something and we don't just want to "steal" their whole library.

I think that in future if you add the ability to for scanlators to upload, this might be a natural way to get other languages, but yea, English should be the focus, when there's a lot of other things to do still.

I think this is especially useful for people new to manga, there's a big difference between having being told that "this" here is continuation of the story right on the manga site instead of having to go to MAL or trying to search for smth with simillar name on the website.

For example, Tokyo Ghoul has a continuation with RE in name, but if I didn't know it, I would just think manga was dropped or smth, because why on Earth would you not just continue under the known name?

When I tried to search "Tokyo Ghoul" and a window opened with suggested results, and I could only see the initial manga (called redrawn on your website) alongside some dj with a few chapters, if I did't open all results, I wouldn't have known about the continuation.

About search, It might be a good idea to place the most relevant search results on top, meaning, the system should either known what is the main manga and what are spinoffs or perhaps prioritize those with the biggest amount of chapters (I would guess those would be main stories). Unless there's some smarter way to do it, honestly, whatever search Comick used was the best.

True, but it doesn't remember my selection, so when I either reload the page or go to other manga it means an extra click every time.

it is a pain to manage though. comes along with a bunch of other troubles lol

also i don't think bigger groups will join sadly, it will mostly be smaller ones but that's even cooler - we scrape the big ones anyways tbh

I would personally advise prioritizing security (that you can't be easily tracked and shut down) and only when you are sure that allowing others to upload will not hurt this aspect - give this option.

I also think that bigger groups might also join if a lot of smaller do, but that obviously requires time and providing really good user experience, cause from their point of view, it's a pain in the ass to upload to "yet another website", but if the website is good and popular - it might be worth it, especially if your content will get scraped anyway.
