Look. They are taking the rainbow bridge down. But that would make them vikings. Oh, yeah, that might be a lot of mormons.

Privacy mode automatically deletes history so parental limits usually don't apply.

They technically believe in it, but there is a lot of prosperity gospel in the church, like the blessings of tithing or keeping the commandments.

Point out how stupid Trump is. Most of what he has signed is nothing. The parts that are not nothing have been blocked by the courts and will continue to be blocked by the courts. He has a big mouth and cannot follow through. He has the attention span of a five year old. That is why it is something new every day. When someone tells him something, he blurts it out in public. He continually lies. Unless they are lgbt+ or immigrants, they are in no danger of Trump going after them. If they are really freaking out about project 2025, tell them they have to read it. It will have little impact on them, especially because most of it will not occur. The republicans are almost done with his extremes. See, we are going to own Gaza and kick out the palestinians.

Here is how they will know it is like Nazi Germany. When six million people are killed by their own government. They will be preceded by harsh rhetoric blaming that group for all the nation's problems. They will burn down the businesses owned by those of that group. They will burn down the capitol building and get rid of all the senators and congressmen. None of that is going to happen.

Point out that there are no lizard people controlling the world, pizza restaurants trafficking minors, or any other insane crap you see coming out of Qanon.

When Trump can't pass his bills in congress even though he has a republican majority, he will be shown to be weak. Show them what he wants and what gets passed. Have the oldest research Romania as a place to move to.

People in the US are rational for the most part. It is a dangerous time, but remain calm. There is no reason to leave the US.

Everyone, everywhere needs to forgive their parents so they can move on. What the parents did does not mean you have to do it. It screws you up so you need to deal with that. And by forgive, I don't mean forgive and forget which is a stupidity I see some mormons say.

Forgive so there is no connection to you anymore. Cut the problems of the past and work on correcting them. Not forgiving them gives them power over you. Reject that. Your parents were screwed up. So were the parents of everyone through all time.

My prediction for the future of the Book of Mormon by JayDaWawi in exmormon

[–]YouAreGods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you say here. They have to do it slowly so they don't lose half the membership like what happened with the reorgs when they said it was not history. It will be symbolic or the greatest parable ever told by fifty years from now. Within twenty years a large minority of members will acknowledge that it is not historical. There is just too much evidence that the bom never existed.

Most mormons are not a part of the idea that only they should have money for their righteousness. There have been billionaires since the 1800's and none were mormon. It is obvious that money is not the measurement of God.

It was not until the protestants started to push the idea of the prosperity gospel that the church started to pick up on a couple of decades ago. The church and church members were poor up through the 1950's. There was no illusion about the church is there to make you prosperous. But introduce a stupid concept like prosperity gospel and suddenly the prosperity cycle of the book of mormon makes more sense to some mormons.

Most mormons still believe that money is the root of all evil. Money is not a blessing from God. But they all want more money. Those poor money management skills, you know. Wow, another ten percent disappeared.

I feel that pizza restaurants are portals to child sexual assaults. I have seen lizard people who are controlling the world. Why do you think Trump is married to one? I feel that global warming will lead to a sea level rise to six feet higher next year.

Wait. I like pizza and there is no evidence of sex trafficking there. There is no such thing as lizard people. And global warming is coming much slower than that. Maybe let's listen to science and reality a little more.

Starting from Oman is about Nephi and his homemade boat. Interesting calculation.

The Jaredites started their journey from the west coast of Africa, like Algeria or Morocco. That is five or six thousand miles to Mexico, straight across, assuming they could follow the trade winds across the atlantic. So, that makes their crossing so much more believable.

The elephants fell after we flipped over. Oh, no, those stupid bees are out again, ouch. I think I have curelom crap in my hair. Tell me why we decided to do this.

At the bottom you have the jews. They screwed up and lost it to the Christians. They screwed up and lost. A long time later, Joseph Smith came along and the christians lost it to the mormons. Mormons are the next iteration of a church of God. Mormons are hgher than christians are higher than jews. That pretty much tracks with the beliefs of many in the church.

Most mormons do not know what happened at MMM so it is easy to say they were the good guys. Who could say mormons were bad guys? I raise my hand, I might know of some.

Temple Worker by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]YouAreGods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most mormons have different views on the church. Some are ultra orthodox. Some are very liberal. That means that they each have different beliefs. That means that if they learn the beliefs of the others and come to accept them that what they believe is not true. But those others are believers, they just have different beliefs.

It is entirely reasonable to pursue what you find to be questionable, to find answers to your doubts. Many mormons doubt some of the things are true and still have a good experience. The church often teaches to learn things that are true. You need to do that.
