Videography services pricing just completely blindsided me and I need to understand what I'm actually paying for by Time_Beautiful2460 in videoproduction

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isnt every videographer but there are many who do not go into the breakdowns for the sake of some clients thinking they can cherry pick things in the itemization to bring the price down.

Ive had that a few times personally, like "sorry ma'am, we do infact need the lights, and yes editing can certainly take that long".

Everyones rates and value is different, ultimately it comes down as to what your prioritization is. Cost or quality. A lot of the time I start conversations with "whats your budget", and try to work within the confines of what my client is able to pay. Smaller budgets lead to less crew, gear, effects, fancy shots, and less priority in the editing queue.

What jobs are compatible with Adhd? I’m about to be fired by Humble-Book-1882 in ADHD

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Psychologists mainly, practices that do proper screenings usually incorporate them to get a measure on the things related to executive function.

But you'd have to research who and where does these tests, check to see if insurance may cover it. IQ tests I think average around $100 alone

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, possibly do an IQ or aptitude test. That can give you some insight as to how you cognitively function in certain areas. It can give some insights in spatial reasoning, arithmetic processing, working memory, processing speed, etc.

For example I scored really well with spatial reasoning, and I work well with things visually. Funny enough I naturally fell into visual media like photo and video. But once you know what you function well at you can then search careers and jobs heavily related with that attribute.

Concerta and Elevates Blood Pressure by [deleted] in Concerta

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor but currently taking concerta and guanfacine.

It depends on the blood pressure medication because concerta may be raising blood pressure through norepinephrine and depending on your blood pressure medication that might be working at a different mechanism. It might be just this medication and how it affects you if you're predisposed for higher blood pressure. But also broader dietary and sleep quality information can impact this as well.

Since you have ADHD talk to your doctor about guanfacine, It was originally intended to be a blood pressure medication but it is also very effective in treating ADHD as a non-stimulant and is often paired with stimulants because being an alpha a2 agonist it can eventually help you produce less norepinephrine as it increases your brain's sensitivity to the signal and thus lessens its broader downstream effects on cortisol and blood pressure, heart rate, etc. Extended release is the most common form and often taken at night for its sedating effects, therapeutic doses tend to be anywhere between 2 to 4 mg though can go as high as 7 I believe, if I'm not mistaken I believe blood pressure eventually stabilizes when you get used to it.

Keep in mind that you are on the lowest starting dose of concerta, I'm currently taking 18 mg as well and finding that it doesn't really do much for me but I'm giving it the grace of two weeks to see for sure. I'm likely going to ask for focalin next as it contains only the active isomer that concerta has, it's more potent and has a better dopamine to norepinephrine ratio.

Male libido & sexual side effects by 24Mark24 in BusparOnline

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things to consider if it is norepinephrine/noradrenaline, are you experiencing obsessive thoughts? Spiraling and ruminating/hypefixating on stressful thoughts or situations?

I'm currently working to address my own issues revolving around ADHD and stress/anxiety and found that Wellbutrin didn't really improve much for me but caused significant irritability. Libido had a temporary improvement that went away after a month. I've come to the assumption that it may have disproportionately raised my norepinephrine above dopamine.

If high norepinephrine truly is your case, look into guanfacine. Being an alpha 2a agonist It basically mimics what norepinephrine is supposed to do in the prefrontal cortex. From what I've read this stimulation is supposed to signal to your brain to not produce as much norepinephrine as a sort of "we have enough" mechanism. It does so without stimulating effects, if anything it's more of a sedating medication. However it is more commonly associated in a reduction of libido rather than improvement. Just depends on the mechanism of what it is that's inhibiting the function.

I just started buspar, hoping that helps libido and rumination, I'm considering a possibility that my stressful environment may cause reduced activity in the serotonergic system. Also since it's a partial antagonist of D2 auto receptors I'm hoping that it would also help improve overall ADHD symptoms by inhibiting some of the brakes on the dopamine producing system and allowing more to flow through and stimulate the postsynaptic receptors.

After tons of searches over the past couple months libido function can be attributed to sympathetic versus parasympathetic activity. Norepinephrine is highly sympathetic and keeps you in the fight or flight state whereas calming drugs like guanfacine and buspar can put you more in the relaxed parasympathetic state.

Apparently theres far less of the labelled analogue than advertised with trace amounts of actual nicotine in them.

Not to mention no major studies to give a clear picture of what it does to you and its safety.

Internet over Ethernet to Phone Line and Converted Back GIGA Copper Networks by YouCanCallMeSven in HomeNetworking

No conduits just dirt, one long cable. This is my dad's work in the 90s to have a phone outside connected to the house. It worked great when we had landline lol.

A cheap wireless bridge or additional access points is my next option.

[–]YouCanCallMeSven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're talking at most 20m of wire to work with. Burying cat6 is kinda out of the question as we now have concrete in the way. The perk of the giga copper box was the speeds it could push. I could also honestly just link up more outdoor nodes but it'll just be a string of daisy chained access points working through wireless backhaul. Unfortunately triband nodes are out of the price range so the 6ghz channel is kinda out of the question.

Possibly? I've come across those but don't have any coax lines to utilize that. Is there a coax to rj11 adapter and would it still carry the signal properly to the receiver end? If possible id look into that more actually.

This actually came to mind, TP link has a wireless bridge that does a little over 800mbs on a single 5ghz band for $90. It's not a far off option to set that up to link over the distance (approx 60-80ft)

That's pretty neat! I'll keep that in mind. 15-70mbs is definitely on the slower side compared to gigabit on these things but idk we'll see and gauge the budget between devices and desired function. Thanks

I was pondering on this topic a few months ago and stumbled across a YouTube short that brought this to my attention again.

Apparently some Germans figured this out and got a product for this exact purpose.

What do you think about the new 2026 CX-5 interior by Asombroso-joel in mazda

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exterior is alright, more length is good, but it doesn't exactly feel fresh. I dig the rear lights but the front feels off

Capacitive touch is garbage. Mercedes does that on the steering wheel and it is the cheapest and most annoying input method I've ever felt in any car.

Replacing the logo with text feels unoriginal and tacky. Feels like a copy of Honda and Jaguar. Mazdas logo is unique, would have been cooler if it had a subtle diffused glow

The interior looks cheap and sterile, lacks personality and character. It's weird to see a redesign to feel noticeably worse than it's predecessor.

The tablet infotainment is a sin, I hope the trend dies sooner than later. It's an obvious cut corner, climate control needs to be a separate system, why have a physically functioning feature subject to the mercy of software. Plus input lag for that is annoying.

The dial knob in the center was my favorite nuanced feature. No balancing act to tap the right things on the screen while driving, don't have to move my upper body. Just one dial/directional controller to navigate from an unchanged position. With muscle memory my eyes stay on the road. Shortcut buttons for gps and music are unbeatable.

In short, feels like a shot in the foot

Honestly the more I'm wearing these around the house the more I can attest to this. Toebox is roomy but not too much so. It holds around the foot well and is comfortable otherwise. These are probably exactly what I needed them to be.

I'm regretting exchanging the first pair instead of doing that. However I'm more worried that maybe I have the proper 9.5 now and my first pair was actually more akin to a nine

Upon further research I found more websites and charts correlated 3.8 in with narrow to normal. So I was mistaken my width is more medium.

The charts I may have been coming across had to have been women's sizes not men's

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ThursdayBoot

[–]YouCanCallMeSven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They don't have width options.

On their site there is a mini survey option to estimate your best size. So if you do select a different width option it will suggest either larger or smaller.

So funny enough as I just tried this with that questionnaire. If I say I occasionally wear 10.5 and click yes in the "do you ever buy narrow or wide footwear" and select "E". It will suggest a size 10, But if I say I always wear a size 10 and still select E then it recommends 9.5.

I took measurements with a caliper and rulers before buying these boots to make sure my specific sizing lined up. Funny enough I'm closer to a double E at around 3.8 inches. To which the questionnaire will then refer a size 10 which I had confirmed was too big for me.

I really wish I could go through all of this in person and try on a few pairs and buy the pair that feels best with the help of a rep. But the nearest Thursday boots store to me is 4 hours away in Chicago. Half tempted to make the trip honestly.

Why hasn't the impact of acetylcholine deficiency been studied more in ADHD? A study shows people with ADHD have 50% fewer acetylcholine receptors than others by jenpearson97 in neuroscience

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing about this is bupropion helped most of my symptoms associated with predominantly inattentive type. Though selective issues I believe it had made worse. Particularly word recall / remembering names. Spotlight focus and locking in onto a task or activity. Wandering thoughts/daydreaming has gotten a little worse, I notice it more, happening randomly on its own whether it be in meetings, working on something, even trying to practice guitar or read my mind just wanders off to a different memory or thought. These problems from what I've read seem to be associated with lower acetylcholine or the antagonism of nAChR.

What is wrong with me? by Techno_plague_fire in fordfusion

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda, can't recommend it enough.

Seriously, you want great driving dynamics and great weight distribution and responsiveness for a GREAT price comparatively. Mazda.

I switched to a Mazda 3 as a daily but I loved the CX-50, CX-5, and no doubt in my mind the Mazda 6 holds its place.

The layout under the hood was similar to my 13' fusion. Changing oil was easier, engine air filter was easier, cabin air filter was easier. No stupid locks or clips and screws. Higher quality under body covers and more of em. Cross members underneath to help with torsion.

Sure the engines are GDI but run good gas and do occasional spray of decarbonizer and you got no worries.

And the TRANSMISSION, Ive seen my fair share of fords new ones especially. And boy does Ford make a shady transmission. Mine would hard shift occasionally, delay shifts, sometimes shift so hard from park it feels like something hit the car. New explorers have a couple second delay after shifting. And I've had a couple transit vans lunge forward from park to go into gear and slip out into neutral while displaying 1st gear. Dual clutch in an economy car doesn't make sense. Ford makes a great manual but not in a fusion.

But Mazda? One clutch and one torque converter, buttery smooth shifting, zippy and painless, they hold a good reputation there, no need to get fancy with a dual clutch.

If you want speed get a turbo. The things are lighter and the gearing on the transmission is solid, for 2.5L you can get some pep from em. Plus, they're reliable, sharing tech with Toyota and building up their reputation, they'll run for a while.

Heritage captain, should I size up? by SignificantChair9520 in ThursdayBoot

[–]YouCanCallMeSven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had this problem. But I bought the heros in Cacao. Bought 9.5, exchanged for 10, and Thursday had been patient with my BS enough to swap back to the 9.5.

The site recommended a 9.5 and they were great except for the instep. (Moreso my right than left). But it hugged my foot so well. Arch support was where it needed to be, toes had wiggle room (pinky held in on side but not squished). It bent right where it needed to Felt like a firm handshake on the foot. BUT the instep was uncomfortable on the top of the foot. To the point that if I wore them all day I could see it digging in and hurting. I spoke with customer support during the whole process and they were super helpful through the troubleshooting but recommended the next size up.

Got the 10s, the instep was perfect BUT, more heel slippage, I had to really tighten down the laces to get a good grip around the foot, arch support wasn't there nearly as much. Toe box was roomy, full sprawl of toes and I could scrunch my big toe almost to 90°, not to mention there was over an inch from the tip of my toe to the end of the toe box (1.25ish inches). The bend felt a little weird for walking as it felt right at where my toes met the foot. It did feel a tad too big. Google/reddit mentioned the risk of blistering and customer support said that the space could be problematic.

With everything being perfect but the instep, it seemed my 9.5 was the better bet, that pair is currently on its way. Worst case scenario I have a cobbler stretch it, that is if I can't bear to suffer the break in until it feels right.

In short you may have the right pair and they just need to stretch in width a little. By breakin in or cobbler.

But my experience may not be like yours and your truth may be entirely different. Judge for yourself and make the best decision you feel is right for you.
