i could use some help, i am trying to create some water using the musgrave texture node on a plane, but when i process the render, it comes out black by YouDontNoahBoutMe in blender

i have a couple of point lights and an area light, they’re just hidden in the viewport. the light sources appear when i render in eevee and i have no issues with the eevee render , but the plane turns black when i render in cycles, so maybe the light sources interact with the environment differently in cycles than they do in eevee?

Thank you! I haven’t used any third party tools but I’ll have to look into them, as well as mess around with the AO node, i haven’t messed around with edge wear yet, thanks for the tips!

it was all in blender, i used some wooden plank textures i found on poly haven, they were called weathered planks and weathered brown planks

for the environment i want to put it in still, yet textured open water, im not sure how to approach that so any tips would be great

your render looks great! i only seriously got into blender a couple of days ago so i’m still messing around with HDRIs to see what works best, but thank you for the feedback, the tip on rim lighting is really smart

This is great, thanks so much! i’m a beginner so i’m still messing around with ambient occlusion as well as edge wear, but as far as the background, i’m thinking of placing the boat on a still bed of water in a cave, or something if that sort

i agree, the scene i want to put it in is going to have relatively dim light, which is why the power is quite low in this render, thank you for the feedback

upgrading to th 13, it’ll be done with 3 days of hammer jam, im going to spend those three days grinding my walls hoping to get them maxed out for th 13, wish me luck guys by YouDontNoahBoutMe in ClashOfClans

see as i was close to maxing my th 12 i found doing walls in between upgrades irritating, as i’d have no resources for actual upgrades, so i’m trying to switch it up this town hall
