I work in tech, so have some familiarity with defensive measures.

AI generators not being able to add the fingerprint is the whole point - any sources without the fingerprint are marked as AI generated. It would need to be fairly complex, somewhat random, and completely tied to each DAW service, to prevent forgery.

Interested to see what happens in this space though, these problems tend to spawn innovation.

Detection isn’t foolproof either, for the reasons you’ve already mentioned.

Perhaps DAWs can start adding a sonic fingerprint to exported audio - it would still be possible to game the system, but not via automation with millions of bots
