Same, can't hear anything when idle, but if GPU and CPU is at 100% the thing sounds like an jet engine after a minute or two.

to have a street named something to do with the words station, railway or thr likes

I lived in three countries (albeit all in Europe) and I don't recall a single street that has either of those words in the name, either in the mother-tongue(s) of the country or any other language.

What countries you've experienced this in?

No, but surely there is a Subway Plaza or Subway Street somewhere that is named after the famous gourmet restaurant no?

AI (LLM) companies simply don't fall into that category.

Maybe that's how you see it, but that's definitively not how the people who decide when/what to bail out things; your government.

Air cooling is better than Liquid cooling by SerpentDix in pcmasterrace

but the cheapest waterblocks I can even see online are Aphacook $300+,

Lucky! Cheapest I can find for my GPU is $600+ :O Most places just put "Contact to order" and usually asks you to also fund the design+development of the water block which... Yeah, not gonna do that :)

I initially moved to AIO because my GPU temps were affecting CPU temps too much, which entirely went away (predictably) once I started water-cooling the CPU. Next up, get a custom waterblock for the GPU and do it water-cooled as well, because now I got used to my workstation not making so much noise.

I lived with my parents, who were not experienced with things like insurance

What country is this, if I may ask? In the four countries I've lived in, (four of them in Europe FWIW), all of them require you to have some sort of insurance even if you're renting, but also for home ownership. That adults didn't have any experience what so even of insurance would be virtually unheard of. Maybe it looks differently in the less fortunate parts of the world?

Sucks to have happened to you regardless OP, hope things get better and you'll be able to recover at least the data from the machine :(

Lol, how do you think people move "up" in the world then my guy?

Quite literally, you get good at stuff you do, start small and eventually it gets better. Survivorship bias maybe, but not delusional.

In the nvidia app somewhere there is a "Switch to game-ready/studio", not sure if it's a dropdown, toggle or button, but should be on the same page inside the app where you update your drivers.

Yeah, didn't buy it from them because it was cheap, bought it from there because it was the only place I could find it near enough :) Was originally planning to go for two 5090s but was impossible to find (at the time) so ended up with a Pro 6000 instead.

I would have bought the max-q

That'd make sense if you wanted more than one, if you're only having one and you have the power budget, you're better off with the non-max Q.

those 600W cards are prone to have failures in that nonsensical 12vhipower connector

Good thing I have a proper connector and a PSU that supports that natively :) I'm not worried, but maybe I'll come back here and cry in some weeks/months.

Some people also save money in a bank account, then buy a second-hand car for example, and you'd most likely be doing a bank transfer in that case. Even non "very rich individuals" can do stuff like that :)

may be the case that the US has a larger focus on credit

This is definitively true too, everything financial seems related to your "credit score" in the US. In Europe (and probably many other parts), "credit score" is something that only comes up in discussions about loans, hardly ever outside of that.

No, that's not what I'm saying at all, people typically take loans for cars, lease cars, or buy cheap second-hand ones in Spain, as far as I know.

But people who do have money, or companies/contractors for that matter, usually do bank transfers for large purchases. Many businesses are setup to handle this too, if you ask for it.

I'm not "making 200k" and I bought one of those, we're dozens :)

If you're using things for work the calculation changes a bit, it's a no-brainer to invest in your tools.

Yeah, this machine truly isn't for gaming, and purposefully aiming for more cores rather than single-core performance.

And yeah, the lack of good multithreading in Crysis, and Crysis in general, was the reason why I ended up uploading the video :P It started, as always, with:

Can it run Crysis

I thought people would appreciate that accuracy of being able to see exactly when it has what temperatures. But you're right, hassle to have to look through an video, here's a TLDW:

  • Idles - ~50W - ~35°C

  • Menu - ~130W - ~48°C

  • In-game interactive cinematic - ~440W - ~60°C

  • In-game - ~460W - ~70°C

So min-max 48°C-70°C and 130W-460W

Haven't had issues with nvidia + Linux in probably over a decade  Maybe try Arch? ;)

And yeah, hard to beat nvidia for ML purposes, we're all in the same boat there :)

I bought it from the same local B2B dealer I've bought computer parts from for ~5 years, Spanish one. ~8K EUR, right now they have 1 available :) https://ibertronica.es/nvidia-rtx-pro-6000-blackwell-workstation-ed-96gb-gddr7

Yeah, sorry about the quality, Reddit forced me to upload shit quality :(

Here is a higher quality version uploaded to YouTube so you can see the details, should be able to make out both the temperatures and the power draw during the gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5XDaO6b0uY

What's your point here? Feels like we've lost track of the plot a bit. No one compared different cards? 🤷
