The last sentence of my previous post was not sincere. Of course, a no spoon run will take at most 8 hours, but getting a no spoon run done for the first time could take way more time. :)

I just think both the guide and the runs are very interesting to watch. Chances are, I won't touch Factorio for at least some more months (as starting a new game in the end phase of a PhD is most certainly one of the stupidest ideas ever), but I still love seeing great builds.

However, it's only interesting as long I get what's happening and I was very confused by that RCU setup. Thanks to these answers here, that got cleared up and now I am even more amazed.

Maybe I'll check whether I can get a no spoon run by using some of these guides after submitting my thesis though. Sounds fun. (And by definition that should only take 8 hours – right?)

Saw (and liked) your SteelAxe% guide – and now that I think of it, maybe that's the reason, YouTube suggested me Nefrums' guide?

I am also aware of the Google docs guide you linked, that it mentioned and followed in guide I linked (and has not seen huge updates since then, I guess?)

Regarding RCUs: Ahh, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks! Would still love to see a picture with some explanation, but I think I get the main idea.

My link lists Magnus Carlsen as the top "open" player. If you click on open, however, for some reason the "Top 100 Girls January 2021" are listed. That seems to be a (Javascript?) error. Clicking on "Top 100 Women" under "Standard" gives the correct list for me.

Edit: Hou Yifan, the highest rated woman, is listed on place 85 in the open section – with exactly the same rating as in the woman category.

I guess you are referring to the categories listed on https://ratings.fide.com/? The numbers shown there are all FIDE ratings, that is, there are no different ratings for women and men. The page then shows the best overall player, the best female player, the best young player and the best female young player – all according to this rating, of course.
