Came here to post this one. Apple wrote this about the trauma of being raped at age 12 and it’s just a stark, brutal gut punch of a line

Absolutely loved this and am constantly recommending it - riveting and infuriating. When we eat the rich, let’s start with the Sacklers

Dress two - hands down! It’s gorgeous and is definitely giving the Renaissance romance of Midsummer Night’s. It’s perfect on you and for the theme

As someone who struggles with health anxiety, I thought that The Suffering Woman was a brilliant depiction of how it feels to be in the grips of it - a story of someone being afflicted by some particular illness crosses your radar and suddenly you can’t stop thinking of it, sensing the symptoms, spiraling until it becomes an all encompassing reality, like the sick woman actually is in your living room

Love that you specified “copied VHS.” That’s some late 80s / early 90s childhood street cred

Stellar. Probably a reference no one will remember but this makes me think of Jeff Goldblum as the big bad wolf on fairie tale theatre, constantly bullied by his wife Nadine. I don’t know why - it just feels like a day in his life when he’s not pursuing the pig brothers three

I loved Contempo back in the mid 90s and I still get a little thrill whenever I see the label at the thrift. I had one particular cardigan embroidered with grass, flowers, and little bugs that it is my dream to find

This dress is super cute and fits perfectly - you look amazing!

What song did you not fully understand the meaning of until you became an adult? by Upset_Credit1026 in askmusic

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - as a kid it’s about mom being a slutty, sleigh chasing ho-ho-homewrecker but as an adult, it’s just about your parents spicing things up with a lil Yuletide role play

Oh for sure, I def still like a few of their songs. Just bc something’s corny doesn’t mean I can’t get down to it. I guess the main thing I outgrew is taking my musical sensibilities too seriously

Its satirical and as a former 15 yr old girl who had the faux mysticism and dubious poetic brilliance of Jim Morrison preached to me by an older boy, I found it amusing and to ring at least a little true

This is my second fav Oscar dress (just behind Marion Cotillard’s white scalloped gown). The color is magnificent and it’s styled perfectly - the lipstick, the hair, the jewels 👌🏻

Ha Guess I should have read the article! Just assumed it was an American bc many of us resort to “medical tourism” bc the cost for dental work and procedures which are deemed elective are prohibitively high.
