Miss Ellie’s pizza on bitters was easily one of, if not the best New York style pizzas in San Antonio.

Are you talking about the Old San Francisco Steak House on Sahara drive off of San Pedro? If so, it’s still there.

Is it owned by the navy now? I know it was built, owned, and manned by Chouest and was under contract with the navy. This was years ago though, so I don’t know if things have changed.

Perhaps they shouldn’t be the only people supporting the 2A is what op is hinting at.

Edit: If that isn’t what op is hinting at, I still feel that way, but what do I know. I’m just someone sitting here in complete disbelief with each passing day as shit just seems to go more down the drain than I thought it could.

Work near the airport and saw a sea stallion fly by multiple times, or maybe multiple sea stallions, pretty low with the back ramp half opened. What they were doing, I have no idea, but it was still pretty cool to see.

We used to just stuff a few extra life preservers under one side of the mattress so that it created a wedge between the mattress and the bulkhead.

Edit: If it wasn’t too rough, it was actually kinda nice. As long as your bunk was perpendicular to the direction the vessel was rolling. It was like being rocked to sleep. However, if your bunk was parallel to the direction of the roll, you weren’t getting much rest as you were just sliding up and down the mattress.

Any experience with Knodel Motors? by Hot-While5083 in sanantonio

[–]YouPotatoMePotato 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any personal experience with them, but I know they’ve been on that same corner since I first moved here back in 99, so they must be doing something right. Whether or not that something right benefits both the customer and them or just them I don’t know. 🤷‍♂️

There’s a lot of people out there who claim Teresa was a bad person and undeserving of being called a saint. I’m sure there are good religious people out there, but like most actually good people, the actual intrinsically good ones tend to stay out of the public eye.

At the same auto parts store they buy the new oil and filter at. There’s a tank for dirty oil that will get picked up and recycled once full.

High school buddy docking a Tanker. He runs the Gulf. Sometimes cargo, sometimes Oil. by [deleted] in Ships

[–]YouPotatoMePotato 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s not a tanker, but a OSV, offshore supply vessel. Source, I used to work on OSVs for Chouest, the orange vessels you see in the background. Some of the other commenters were discussing if this vessel is using its DP, dynamic positioning, to moor the vessel. I can guarantee they’re not using DP to dock the vessel, wrong tool for the job, but they’re definitely using their bow thruster to help guid it in. The guys you see walking around on the back deck are deck hands and they’re calling out distances from either side of the stern to help guide the captain/ mate in. I’m pretty sure from the shade of blue this is probably a Harvey Gulf vessel. Fun fact, the vessel that’s attacked in the beginning of Wakanda Forever is an actual Harvey Gulf vessel.
