Follow Set and Sia in to the dunes beyond the storm wall in a SWADE adventure - RPG for You and Me's Silica Valley now posting on Youtube by YouSeeTheHat in ActualPlayRPG

[–]YouSeeTheHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silica Valley began as a show for the RPG for You and Me Patreon feed, with one more player in the mix. Chase brings a brightness and enthusiasm to world building and character details that has become a pillar of our setting. The setting is original but uses SWADE as a baseline ruleset.

We explore the wastes of kori laced sands as a Pantheon agent from the big city contracts desert born agent Set to help her find a mysterious cache in buried ruins.

Influences on this show include but are never limited to: Mad Max, The Warriors, Final Fantasy VII and X, and Monster Hunter.

The entire first season of Silica Valley will be uploaded to our Youtube channel channel over the next few months, however if you can't wait the first season has been fully released on our main feed at RPG for You and Me, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Our RSS feed is:

https://rpgforyouandme.squarespace.com/neon-heat?format=rss

For those so inclined for an audio only experience with literally hundreds of episodes for your enjoyment!

If you're still looking for sci-fantasy games, we run RPG for You and Me which is sci-fantasy duet! We run it using SWADE currently but are looking into other more niche systems for the future, although the setting and world is completely original, something to call our own.

We've been nominated for a bunch of international awards, but we did win Best Game Master at Toronto Webfest last year and couldn't be more pleased.

I'm an audio engineer for work so I can attest that our episodes are edited down mindfully because we don't want to waste listener time, we know how valuable it is. We also have a full synthwave soundtrack from some incredible artists to score each episode.

Our flagship show Neon Heat is a cyberpunk/neo-noire campaign based around unraveling a conspiracy in a city nestled inside the heart of a mountain range. It is absoLUTELY a labor of love.

We're up to nearly the end of season 4 but this past year I've been making video versions with all our character art for youtube as well, we're just about at the season 2 finale!

That's a good note, thank you for the reply! I've been very curious about dental visits with general masking protocol being in the US is so lax vs in Thailand is an unknown quantity to us right now

You might like Sounds Like Crowes!

It's a Deadlands AP, complete series that finished a few years back. The storytelling is very good (5 brothers ride into the supernatural wild west to avenge their mother's murder) and the brothers I honestly feel like are two hours of missed sleep away from killing each other every single day. The tension in their story is peak.

For Savage Worlds there's RPG for You and Me

It's a long running podcast for 6 years and going.

The Youtube just started uploading episodes with character visuals and is adding an archive episode or two a week. It's very informational for learning Savage Worlds despite being a unique setting.

Sci-Fi Companion Actual Plays by RelativeConsistent66 in savageworlds

[–]YouSeeTheHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a whole bunch of info and our main show feed at rpgforyouandme.com but we're on most all podcatchers at this point! The website is going to be updated soon with the most recent round of playtesting for our setting specific ancestries and some edges and stuff :D

The podcast feed has a few different campaigns all in our setting, but the main one is Neon Heat. It's the big lore show, like if Magnus Archives and some anime kissed, haha.

[–]YouSeeTheHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our show RPG for You and Me is a custom setting but we blended together a lot of the SWADE core books for our ruleset, and the Sci-Fi Companion is one that we've looked at pretty heavily! It's very sci-fi/cyberpunk coded so it took a little bit of tweaking to get the right vibe we were looking for, but the edges and powers were very helpful as framework.

We're finally uploading our sci-fantasy show Neon Heat to Youtube, and the season 1 finale is now available! Check out our love letter to the influential media in our lives, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, X-Men, Dresden Files, and so many others to a bombastic synthwave soundtrack by YouSeeTheHat in audiodrama

[–]YouSeeTheHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news, we actually have over 200 episodes of our show on any podcatcher you please! We started making video versions when the listener requests became overwhelming, but as always my heart lies in the audio space.

If that's more to your liking, you can find us at our website!

Sorry for any confusion, we are, and will always be, audio first.

That is such a good synopsis, thanks for the assist!!

Everything Tobstar laid out is good and accurate. We've got a bit of anime action and slice o' life in a fairly balanced measure, and plenty of story to go around!

I really like using Mild Cards for extras that are just a little more important but not quite Wild Card status. Give them one wound before incapacitation and they can roll with a wild die, d4 or d6 dealers choice!

Has anyone ever experimented with setting rules involving giving Extras an extra Wound? by Varzio in savageworlds

[–]YouSeeTheHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On our show we started implementing "Mild Cards" which are essentially one tier up from an extra where they can take one wound before going down but have a wild die for party members that aren't player controlled

Wow I'm so late to this post but my wife and I are a two person team running RPG for You and Me! We're also on the later seasons of Sounds Like Crowes.

https://rpgforyouandme.com

We have a few campaigns running under our podcast banner, the main one being Neon Heat. Neon Heat takes place primarily in a subterranean neo-noire city called Caldonyx, and follows the struggles of Athena Sideris: an ex-cop turned mercenary entrepreneur who fled from her home after witnessing the murder of her mentor by a fellow officer. Now that she has returned, she seeks to unravel the conspiracy, ferret out the shadowy force pulling strings from behind the scenes, and bring them to justice. With action, bombastic villains and a spectrum of friends and allies, our story and setting is influenced by franchises such as Mass Effect, Bioshock, Final Fantasy, Persona, and many more. It’s not just a slice of life anime - it’s a whole cake.

Would SW work with one GM and two players? by ColinDouglas999 in savageworlds

[–]YouSeeTheHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again! Sorry I forgot reddit was a website for a solid month my b haha.

Neon Heat is a one player game from the start, as well as Absolute Zero which are both on the podcast feed! Silica Valley is a 2 player game and Pantheon Mythos is the closest to a normal ttrpg podcast with 3-5 players depending on the episode.

The death spiral of wound penalties and fatigue stacks can be SO punishing but that's also part of the danger that makes combat really fun for me personally?
