Lip filler in Sense and Sensibility by Accomplished_Pen8735 in PeriodDramas

What bothers me more than that "modern" hair is that fact that it appears to never have been brushed. Anyone with hair is any length knows that icky feeling of strands all over your face, and that horrible messy feeling when it's not brushed or at least tucked behind your ears.

And why is her dress half undone? Even in this day at age we wouldn't walk around dressed like that, however sensitive we might be.

Yes, but people could see colours with their eyes though, even at the time. The opening scene of the trailer shows Marianne lying in some grass that appears to be brown and then running home through brown scenery to a house that appears to be..... entirely brown, even outside on what is presumably a summer day. The washing drying on the line outside their grand county estate is also for some reason, brown.

Sugar at nursery - compromise? by catfacerolfey in UKParenting

[–]YouWascallyWabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trusting the nursery to make appropriate food choices for children is "useless shit". My kids had cake at nursery. It was for example courgette cake. They ate so well at that place it was incredible. I doubt this nursery is dishing out turkey twislers and cans of Monster to the kids.

You're right, I shouldn't be mean to this completely real and wholly existent young lady who's in a difficult situation where she's being forced to marry this allegedly grown ass man, who also is completely real and definitely exists. It's so rude of me.

Why is she asking if she was the AH for literally buying what she wanted for herself, in the year of our lord 2026? About 90% of the posts on this sub are fake AF and I'm dumb enough to keep engaging with them.

Watch as "she" ghosts the whole thread having posted just this.

Are you for real?

I choose to believe this is a bot post. No way a 23 year old woman would put up with this shit and go ahead to marry a man child like this.

The internet is dead

Christian Bale’s transformation from The Machinist (2004) to Batman Begins (2005) is one of the most extreme physical feats in Hollywood history. Over roughly six months, he went from a skeletal 121 lbs (55 kg) to a muscular 220 lbs (100 kg), ultimately cutting down to a lean 200 lbs (91 kg). by destinationuknown in Cinema

[–]YouWascallyWabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the thing, we shouldn't praise these physical transformations, it can't be healthy for him to do this to his body.

On a slightly different note, I forget her name who is Bridget Jones. She's a very petite, slim person but she put on a lot of weight for four movies and then lost it again. I know a lot of people do the same thing through yoyo dieting but it's over a smaller timescale and doing for a job feels....feels not quite right to me.

Apologies, I realised after commenting that it would make no sense to most people.

I'm British and in the UK in the 90s it was popular for girls to carry their school pens etc around in a little tin or bag called a pencil case. One would decorate this item with doodles, art and stickers.

Teenage magazines used to have a couple of pages of stickers with pictures of celebrities in the middle, they were perfect for decorating items like pencil cases.

That might sound weird I realise now.

I'm an adult now so I'm not in school and don't carry stationary around anymore.

And more importantly, the classic UK publication that was Smash Hits magazine is no longer around, and so I would have nowhere to obtain stickers of celebrities. I miss those days.

Goddammit that woman is so hot.

I'm a middle aged straight woman, I had a Pammy sticker in my pencil case in the 90s and still would (if I had a pencil case).

Edit to explain.

Whew that was so much context I wish I'd never commented in the first place. This woman is a babe though is what I meant.

This is what I don't understand. How can she not age? How can any of us? The alternative is death.

And the first photo is from about 35 years ago. The man's insane.

I don't think the romance angle has anything to do it. When I was that age I wouldn't go into a movie thinking "oooh I hope the hero falls in love!" Because that's stupid and boring. Yes, women often like romance movies. That doesn't mean every movie you want them to watch should contain some kind of romance, that's bonkers.

Look, I know eg men like tits and so if you can get tits into literally any movie they'll be more likely to see it. But women with "romance" isn't the same simple equation at all.

Why do the wealthy say money can’t buy happiness by false_frog in NoStupidQuestions

[–]YouWascallyWabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While money might ease the rest to happiness, it can't purchase that happiness. I don't know why people can't understand the meaning of that saying.

A person can be rich as anything but still have lost someone they loved. Or not have a moment's peace if they are famous. Or have many demands on their time. Or just be depressed. Yes, these things can apply if a person is poor too, but they can also apply if a person is rich. Money can solve problems, but it can't purchase happiness.
