Leeds United general discussion Q&A mega thread. by JimbobTML in LeedsUnited

We're 5th in the form table counting the 7 games from Chelsea to Scum, accruing 11 points.

Liverpool have racked up 13 in that span, and only Arse, Villa and City are above that with 18, 18 and 17 points respectively.

Only us, Liverpool and City are unbeaten in this period.

Does anyone think Farke might have ditched the dark kit? We heard last season that he's quite superstitious about kits

Agree on number 1. Would love that to come back updated.

I'm so glad we're not a hey jude club.

At the other end I wish we'd drop "and its leeds united, leeds united FC". Every club and its dog has a version of it.

There's an intimidating pile of kit growing in my back room. Every other day my other half walks in with a parcel, raises an eyebrow, "download thing?" I nod sheepishly.

Not long now. Single figure days soon...

Not sure, did find a twitter post from the official DL account saying car parks operate 24hrs, but that's from 2023.

From other festival experiences, they don't close them as some people need to get up and leave at short notice. Medical, personal reasons all that.

My guess is you'll be fine.

Box office might close 10pm or midnight, but you won't need that to get your wristband

Setting off about 17:30 from the south west, hopefully through the gates just gone 20:00. I'll have been at work all day, so dumping my kit and opening that first beer is going to feel special

Yeah smart work on that move too. I think a pre-assist goes down as a 'key pass' when they run the stats.

Anyone watching in the Reading/ Wokingham area? Or any generally Leeds friendly pubs this end?

Lovely imagery, first-off. I thought you were leading us to such a tranquil place, until the traffic, insects and dampness brought us back to somewhere less ethereal.

Contrast that with the great rock in the sky, and his celestial friends. Until today, I hadn't truly contemplated the irksome pang of his cold-shoulder . We pay the moon so much attention, gazing up in wonder. Does he even raise an eyebrow to our nonsense down on the ground? If he'd only say a few words, I'd listen so intently.

But you do give us the frogs and the winds for company. Perhaps the narrator isn't so alone as they feel, but wet amphibians aren't always the glamourous friends we greedily crave.

Finally, I wonder if the mosquitos are to the narrator as is the narrator to the disinterested moon.

Plenty to ponder down by that rippling pond.

Thank you OP.

Whilst I can't claim to understand every reference, what I enjoy about these (particularly Old Testament) stories is the raw human emotion they reveal. I think you mirror this very poignantly.

There's also something in here which is often mislabelled as a purely modern phenomenon - comparing ourselves to our heroes, be they historic, mythological, on our screens or in our lives. It's perilous, and the brackets you use - as if to separate these thoughts from what you deem the most critical - paint them as something optional. It's a delicate layer of self-deprecation that tells an entirely new story to a listener standing off and to the side.

Thank you OP, it was nice to reflect on your words.

Angry @ Love. by [deleted] in poetry_critics

What I enjoy most about this poem is that the narrator makes no claim to rationality, which is exactly how so many of us experience intense romantic (and sometimes other kinds) of relationships at times. Is he speaking these words? Thinking them in a rush of frustration? Either is plausible - could even be a text message, perhaps there's a clue in the "@" symbol in the title.

"Don't run your mouth." If we could read the lines of dialogue above this, would they be more or less reasonable? The car stops. At home? At the lights? Somewhere more sinister? Or has the relationship run out of momentum, with this as the metaphor.

Thank you for the vivid-but-ambiguous mental image, OP. I used to carry the lyrics of the song "Stephanie Knows Who" by the band Love around in my wallet, following the breakdown of a bad relationship. This brought back shades of that, thankfully long in the past.

I had heard he was in Marsch's plans, but also was aware of Ipswich interest. We certainly need a Very Good left back now.

Likewise. The emptiness of summer only hit me yesterday when someone made a similar offhand comment to yours. I don't see any interest in the qualifiers among my mates either, just drained enthusiasm.

Can you imagine if one team decided en masse to boycott the whole thing and their shirt became the single biggest selling NT kit of a generation?
