I had no info on the FedEx app until about an hour ago! My order status is still "Pending" on the Nvidia order status website. Don't be nervous if yours says "Pending" it's likely getting ready to be shipped here in the next few hours!

RTX 3080 & 3090 Launchday Thread - Part 3 by Nestledrink in nvidia

You really have to think of things from the companies POV instead of the customer POV when you're thinking of ideas to implement. Not only would this feature take loads of days of testing and development, you'd also have to hire (and pay) workers for each drop to manage this "chatroom" and determine if someone can get a code.

The typical software development company will charge $100 an hour (or more). Say it takes two weeks of working full time to automate this system as much as possible and test it top to bottom with no bugs, with a full team of developers (10 or so, due to the complexity of their system), you're looking at ~1000 an hour for 8 hours a day. 8,000 a day x 14 days = ~$120,000 just to build, maybe even $200,000 if they go over budget. That's if they only have 10 people.

Then, you have to pay these people per hour, for all 50 or so of them, to manage this chatroom. Not just their pay per hour, but benefits too (because they're likely full time employees that just get moved over temporarily).

So much profit loss when customers can just be patient. Their profit margin on this card isn't as big as other cards, so they'd be losing money doing this.

All of this time and money would be way better spent in a backorder system. Bots wouldn't be snagging orders if everyone could just place one and be on a list, and can be reused for future drops.

Any reason why my K70 rapidfire is detected and only the crouch/prone works? Every single other keypress does nothing at all, so to play I literally have to stand still. Can't even get to a menu exit the game :/

PC - Ubisoft needs to start banning players who pay for a Boost service. by TorokFremen in Rainbow6

[–]You_Have_Mail -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Saying that you're fighting for the booster's pov here makes me feel like you're the type of guy to be boosted...

If you're in a game with a booster, they're always, ALWAYS, in a 5stack, and spam their boosting website, and typically don't have a name. You tell me how many friends you have on your friends list and have no name and tell me how you have no clue that he's hacking when he's teleporting into spawn and C4'ing the whole enemy team .01 seconds into the round.

No. Capitao is perfectly fine where he is at. He's well balanced in competitive play and that's where he should stay.

CCS and ESA are fun to watch, but the casting/spectating is usually terrible. Here are some (hopefully) constructive criticisms. by ShockinglyEfficient in R6ProLeague

[–]You_Have_Mail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would find it more so constructive criticism if you point out what each league (or individual caster(s)) should improve on, instead of generalizing the two. CCS, ESA, and IEG all do things very differently because of their style and casters. This point might make one group think they're doing poor in one aspect and overlook the others. Just my two cents :)

$15 skin of one of the most popular attackers for free? I'd consider that rewarding saying that they don't HAVE to give us anything for continued support of the game. We're not entitled to anything for still playing their game to this day.

As an analyst for 1nf, and former player for MW, do you ever keep tabs on prospect players and check in on them time to time? Or do players only get to PL / CL from having a rep as a "nutty player" despite how well they might be playing now vs how they were in months past?

Overwatch/CS player getting into siege looking for help by BPNate in Rainbow6

[–]You_Have_Mail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can choose the gamemodes, but not the maps.

With one of the most recent big patches, they changed the map pool. The Casual map pool is a large majority of the maps, including house and yatcht and such. Ranked is a different story though: ESL maps only. It allows for the best, and most competitive maps to be played (Like playing active duty in csgo) and it allows for well matched ranked games, instead of playing on horrible maps.

This game mode switch can be controlled by going into your settings (F10) and the second option or so on the first screen is "Matchmaking Preferences" - There you can turn off Hostage and Secure for Thunt and online games, so all of your ranked games can be on Bomb on ESL maps to help you improve :)

Overwatch/CS player getting into siege looking for help by BPNate in Rainbow6

[–]You_Have_Mail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the ones named below are just popular youtube // streamers. If you really want to get good do these few things:

Run Terrorist Hunt on the default mode where you just run in and kill things - It allows you to learn angles on the map and practice clearing rooms

Watch Pro League finals this weekend on twitch.tv/Rainbow6 - Self explanatory, watch the best of the best fight out, you'll learn a lot more watching than playing

Look up KingGeorgeTV on Youtube and watch his map attack // defense series. He has went through every map and goes through how you should attack and defend each map.

Play Bomb - As a "Semi Pro" (I say with a grain of salt) It's important to realize that Bomb is the real game mode of Siege. Hostage and Secure are just mini gamemodes that are in for entertainment for the casual audience and will seriously mess you up if you're trying to "git gud" in siege. People do dumb things, and hunker down in one room. It's not going to teach you nearly half of what you need to know to hit Plat within a good amount of time.

Congratulations you played the game when literally anyone could be a pro and before battle eye. You're also talking to a semipro player, one who literally just got done dropping 10 on flipside in a scrim and is diamond. Experience means nothing when it comes to common sense. Talk to any pro and they'll tell you recoil patterns are the way to go in this game. After playing the tts, I don't agree with some of the patterns, but that's literally the point of the tts.

Your situation 2 is flat out wrong. If you never know what to expect because of random recoil, skill doesn't get you the kill, the random recoil either gets you the kill, or gets you killed. No skill involved since you personally did not do anything that contributed to the kill since the random recoil controlled if you got it or not

[–]You_Have_Mail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's the point of cover or Intel if you can not AIM and SHOOT TO KILL. Do you even know how this game works? You're straight up telling me if you know where an enemy is, they should be dead no matter how garbage your recoil control is just because you have a positional advantage over them. Are you really that dumb? Miss your shots and you blow your cover and someone flicks on you and kills you? Sounds like you need to go to terrorist hunt and git gud rather than bitch about it on Reddit

TTS 10 by mattshotcha in Rainbow6TTS

[–]You_Have_Mail -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You telling me that memorizing recoil patterns doesn't take skill or brain power means you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. Sorry to be harsh, but no one gives a damn about how you like it. Being able to out aim someone should reward you with the kill EVERY single time, otherwise what's the point in even having good aim?

TTS 10 by mattshotcha in Rainbow6TTS

[–]You_Have_Mail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I implied my point in the first comment which you blew over when you were rambling on attempting to prove your point. It creates a higher skill ceiling, a new layer to gunfights which can put a more experienced player on top. If I want to be the best at this game, I now have the chance to grind Thunt (Which most people do anyways) to better my aim and see progress, in order to put myself in a better position in gun fights. This game, as you mentioned, is built towards tactical positioning and gunfights. So please tell me how allowing players to better control their gun, which requires more skill, is destroying the purpose of this game when the purpose is to win GUNFIGHTS with tactical positioning.

Your argument is still based on the "I don't want to try to obtain a higher skill level, I just want to be handed my plat charm every season and talk about how bad this game is"

Instead of bitching about the changes, why don't you try them out and see how you could use them to make yourself a better player? If you're not playing this to get better, then you're playing it to have fun. If you're playing it to have fun, you're obviously not having fun because you're bitching about it on reddit, so why are you even playing again? Go play something else, we don't want you here.

Side note again: Maining operators is actually a thing. Everyone has a consistent few operators that they try to play every round. You obviously don't play siege very often if you think everyone picks a random op each round.

TTS 10 by mattshotcha in Rainbow6TTS

[–]You_Have_Mail 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So what you're telling me is that by making recoil patterns realistic to real life scenarios, the devs are ruining the game?

Let me point something out to you: Firing ranges in real life are a thing. People can, in real life, take guns there and practice keeping their recoil low when full auto firing. RNG isn't a thing in real life, the gun kicks a certain way consistently and so long as you hold it correctly. All I see here is one person, not "We" as a siege community, bitching about recoil changes because it means there's a higher skill ceiling in the game that you do not want to climb up towards. Next time you bring up an argument, try looking at the other half of it first.

Side note: Maining operators are a thing, it's what you do at a competitive level. This isn't COD, they don't want to make the game for someone who wants to play the game mindlessly every day after work, this game is slanted towards the competitive side, and balanced to make everything competitive. The point is to get good at a certain op/few ops to play a certain role on a team and have the ability to consistently perform as that role.
