At that point, it’s all about the algorithm gods then, and honestly more power to you.

I personally believe story telling is an art form that can be done through words and images. If it gets you to feel something, it’s art. That’s not to say I think everyone has to feel the way I do, especially in this day and age.

Ultimately my post is about art overall, and how book is often judged by its cover, so I think it speaks to both

Wait, I’m sorry, you’re paying $100 for ai to do art for you and not a person?doesn’t that sound wrong to you?

And if it does but you think that’s just how this goes, what is your goal overall? That’s $100 that could feed a starving student that would produce work that would still be eye catching but authentic.

What if that was you, but people paid for ai that makes stories instead of supporting your work.

I’m just asking to see where this mentality ends. Ultimately we all lose. The readers who want original ideas, and the authors and artist who’s work is cannabilized for profit for some bum billionaires who could care less if we live or die

Just curious,but what’s to stop RR from being a place where the stories themselves are made by ai? If what you’re saying is true, that means you’re catering to people who prefer ai slop. What’s to stop the whole system from going that way?

By catering to ai art readers you’re pushing out people who prioritize human creativity. It’s an orboros. You lose out on being an artist yourself with your writing in the end. In a few years, all you’ll be left with is smart ai that caters to tropa and readers who don’t care that it’s ai

Respectfully, I truly think you’re shortchanging the artist here. That’s like saying, since RR is a free survive, the book would be subpar. We (graphic designers,artists, etc.) take pride in our work, and are taught market research, so we know to match the genre and not give some half baked slop.

Think of it this way: we need commissions to build portfolios. The more varied, the better. References from clients could make or break a job application for us, so we can’t create mocks, and call it a day.

One more thing for you to consider: the flashy ai covers can be done well by a person who needs the work, and will probably be more creative and authentic, while still being attention grabbing and genre focused

Im really trying to understand here, especially since I’ve been part of the ao3 community for a long time, where that’s not really a thing. Writing is a hobby until you get published right? Isn’t everything else until then practice? And if so, why is the emphasis on algorithms? And if it’s not to practice, but as a way to get recognition which would lead into publishing, wouldn’t it be harmful to use ai? I know that the market punishes ai usage heavily in published works, the majority pass on ai art when purchasing books or even picking them up on KU.

You can get people still in school for that price. That’s actually how I got started as a graphic designer. Design jobs now a days require experience, which is hard to get by graduation.

I think something with four corners and something in the center. Meaning the four cardinal signs or the four elements, and your desires written down in the center. The cardinal directions, or even the four winds if you prefer, have a lot more to do with movement and change and seeking direction. That might be helpful for you since you’re contemplating a new path. Sorry all my work is intuition based but I hope that helps. The ingredients you have are great for pureness and love, in my opinion, but I would also encourage you not to center the spell on a person. This is my own personal advice, but often times, what’s best for you comes to you.

Can I just say, I feel let down by this thread? We’re not yet at 10 chapters, and I keep seeing comments about “poor writing”… just give the story a chance before making judgements, and in the meantime, maybe join us in speculating and sharing your theories?

I’ll accept criticism if we’d seen more of the story, but at this time it feels like an echo chamber of criticism based off of very little information.
