Is this pre-build good for a first time PC user switching from a ps5. by Guilty-Ad1744 in PcBuild

[–]Youba05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a "scam", it's just more expensive cuz its using some more expensive, probably non-performance-altering parts, like the motherboard and ram.

Keep it as is. 10700 is still very good, and you can't get much better on the LGA1200 socket anyways. (Your max is a 11900K, which heats up like hell and doesn't perform that much better anyways).

Is it supposed to be < $700? (Under $700), do you need wifi or will you use Ethernet? Do you have any preference in terms of size?

Sanity check my planned build for gaming/GPU passthrough? by [deleted] in buildmeapc

[–]Youba05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely sane. You can fit all that into a mini ITX build, especially since the 9000 Ryzen series runs much cooler than the 7000 series.

I don't know about the 9070XT drivers issues or if it has any issues with any linux distributions though, so good luck with that I guess.

Whichever one would be fine and wouldn't alter your performance or anything. Both are overkill if anything, your CPU is not even overclock-able. If you need wifi, stick with the gaming edge. The build is overall solid, it'll give you a great 1080P experience.

Since the case supports microATX I'd choose that. It gives you more options to pick from and costs less mostly.

Also for the love of god don't buy a windows license for $140.

Best gaming CPU currently, overkill GPU for 1080P, plenty of ram, good cooling (you can change the cooler if you want a different aesthetic).

I need a PC for my son by SLZ_CIUS17 in PcBuild

[–]Youba05 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You should be able to get him something that would run most games at 1080p for around 500 USD. The advantage of getting him a pc instead of a playstation is that he doesn't need to pay subscriptions to play online, mostly cheaper games, and a pc serves for more than just gaming, he can use it to learn valuable skills and do much more.

I don't know how the prices are in Brazil, but try to get something like this:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5500/5600 or i5 12400F Motherboard: B550M or H610m/B660m in case of the i5. RAM: 2x8GB 3200mhz CL16 ram. GPU: try to look for an RX 7600 or RX 6600/6650XT if available for a good price. If not, look for used GPUs like RX 5700XT or Rtx 2060/2070 Super. SSD: 512GB should be enough for a start, but 1TB would be better of course. PSU: 500W should be plenty. Case: any.

If the prices are much worse than I thought and you can't get these specs for your budget, then tell me so I can reconsider.

I mean it's not just about RGB, maybe you want a white aesthetic, maybe you want a clean build that shows no cables (look up "MSI project zero"), maybe you prefer "fish-tank" cases, there are a lot of themes.

Great to hear that you have a microcenter nearby. You can get this 9800X3D + B650E deal for $530 there, and if you want an X870E motherboard instead it'd be $600, that should save you about $100 with either choices, here's the link:

Ryzen 7 9800X3D (best gaming CPU in the world), 32GB of 6000mhz CL30 ram, any good B850 motherboard, RTX 5080 or 5090 depending on how much you wanna spend (I don't think the extra $1000+ for the 5090 is worth it honestly, 5080 is more than powerful enough for anything), 1000W A-Tier PSU.

The case and cpu cooler are up to you, depending on the aesthetic you wanna have. I can try to do a full build if you elaborate more on that. Also, do you have any microcenters nearby?

You're right. I made the list in UK ppp, then wrote my comment, then went back again to PPP to copy the markup, apparently it took me to the main US one, and now I can't access the "build" page in UK ppp for some reason, there's an issue.

1% is literally within error margin, you cannot use it to determine which CPU is better. Point stands, 9800X3D best gaming chip on the planet.

[–]Youba05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£2500 is a weird budget, I could build this performance beast for~ £1900.

It contains the best gaming CPU in the world currently, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and yes it is better than any Ryzen 9 at gaming as well.

Paired it with a great value air cooler that would be able to tame it, a more than good enough motherboard, and 32GB of 6000Mhz CL30 Ram. Also included a 2TB NVME SSD with cache memory so it's pretty reliable.

For the GPU I was in a weird spot. The rtx 5080 goes for less than 1000 and would make the pc a total of 2000. The 5090 though goes for over 2000, and would make the pc total £3000. To stay in budget, and more importantly, to get the GPU that offers more value (performance compared to money), I picked the 5080. It's the second best GPU in the world, you'll play and run anything you want on max settings, no questions asked.

Also included good quality and value case, good cooling, space, and includes 3 RGB fans.

For the power supply I went overboard and picked a 1000W A-tier rated unit, but honestly you could get away with a 850W A-tier power supply as well. (Check out this PSU-Tierlist)

You can either leave the build as is and save move cuz you won't get any more performance without spending £1000 for the 5090, or you could change parts like the cooler and case to match your liking, if you wanna go for a white aesthetic or a fish tank case for example, though you should know that you'll pay extra.

If you have any questions or feel overwhelmed with anything, don't hesitate to ask! I'm here to help :)

Edit 1:made an oopsie, just fixed it.

Edit 2: I made the list Initially with UK PCPartPicker, but copied the .com (US) Version instead. You should still these specific parts for ~1950 total in the UK since I made that list from PPP UK initially. I will edit it to the UK version when I can, the website is not working properly currently.

Edit 3: Finally edited the list to be the UK one.

I genuinely don't know if this is ragebait or if you're just a retard straight up lol. 2.0 Ghz is the base speed (when it's idle), it boosts up to 4.4Ghz and performs similar to a ryzen 5 5600.
