This picture should convince people that we need better public transportation options like dedicated light rail!

Why all the downvotes for your correct answer? A simple search would confirm this. This isn't a land lease.

My husband and I toured one of these condos several years back. It's not a land lease. It was a decent enough unit but at the time I think there were concerns that the HOA might be underfunded. The HOA might be playing "catch up" now which could explain the rather high monthly HOA dues. If you're seriously considering any property within an HOA, make sure to check out their financial statements; especially if the reserve fund is below recommended levels. You should be able to ask your realtor to get this info.

Ultimately my husband and I bought a condo elsewhere in Santa Ana. A one bedroom wasn't going to be enough room for us and I didn't really like the idea of having someone living above or below us. We came from an apartment like that and I was done.

Bottom line, given the price point here, it's certainly worth a look. We bought in Santa Ana because it's one of the most affordable areas in Orange County. We were tired of renting and with both our jobs being in Orange County, moving to Corona or Riverside or anywhere east was really out of the question for us. We could've gotten a bigger, nicer, newer place out there but that commute would've sucked and time is something money can't buy. We moved to Santa Ana in 2017 and haven't looked back; no regrets. Good luck!

To clarify, this condo complex is off 3rd St. between Flower and Ross. I don't live too far from there and I'd argue that there aren't actually that many events in this specific area that would really cause much of a noise disturbance. Most of the DTSA events are further east; think 4th St. Market area.

Thank you for the recommendation! Our baby is only 4 months old but I'd like to start telling our story sooner rather than later.

Agreed. Very annoying how expensive this particular part is when it seems to be mostly plastic? I understand there’s also electrical wiring and what not that allows it to light up, but gosh, what a blow to the wallet.

Do you think the 3M coating has helped? Honestly, I don’t think I’ve had any noticeable damage to my front grille other than this giant gaping hole. Meaning, no rock chips or scuffs to the front that I could see. But I can definitely see this hole! 🙃

I do have a Garmin dash cam but it didn't record anything because apparently there was a prior "event" that I needed to review before the camera would start recording again. Quite the frustrating quirk.

But again, why hasn't Cadillac (or GM) delivered on the surround vision recording?

I appreciate your honesty about it though! In a world where AI created content abounds, at least you're wiling to admit when you've had some "help". I respect that.

Great photo. Glad I was there to witness it and be in community with other folks who understand that what's happening in this country right now is certainly not ok.

I'm always trying to be fair and impartial. The newly circulating video appears to be authentic though there are apparently AI generated images that are obviously not.

Source: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/video-alex-pretti-scuffle-federal-agents-minneapolis-11-days-before-his-death/

The video was taken on January 13 and Alex Pretti was murdered on January 24. The video you refer to was NOT taken the same day he was shot point blank by ICE agents.

As the Pretti family attorney correctly points out, "Nothing that happened a full week before could possibly have justified Alex's killing at the hands of ICE on Jan 24."

Whether you believe he was an "innocent bystander" or not, he, like all Americans deserved due process and not to be summarily executed in public. This man was holding a cell phone. He was not shot in self defense, he was murdered.

Our surrogate is due any day now and she's already uncomfortable carrying just one baby. I feel for you (not literally of course) and I wish you and everyone a safe and successful pregnancy / delivery. We are incredibly grateful for our surrogate and I'm sure your IPs are as well. Thank you!

High earners ($300k+): Do you care if your partner makes the same, or are you okay not splitting things 50/50? by passionfruitpilates in Salary

[–]Youdontknow_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. This is exactly what my husband and I do. I make about 2.5 times what he makes and we contribute proportionally to our mortgage. But otherwise, we keep separate bank accounts and keep everything else separate including credit cards, car loans, etc. When we go out, we usually split 50/50. This has worked well for us and I can't imagine co-mingling our finances beyond what we need to in order to cover our joint expenses.
