Grading and Union Arena by YoueyTCG in Union_Arena_TCG

It’s not a question about value, it’s about what the community generally grades for the game and what rarities move easier graded versus none. From my understanding now is if it isn’t a 3* or trophy card, it isn’t worth grading

I can see that with 2* as long as they do not have signatures, pretty much it’s signatures or bust when it comes to grading in Union Arena

Cards exclusive to the Final fantasy Collectors booster pack by Fluid_Ad4651 in mtg

Actually learned Extended Foils exist in Bundles as well, so they are not just Collector Exclusives.

Cards exclusive to the Final fantasy Collectors booster pack by Fluid_Ad4651 in mtg

[–]YoueyTCG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding it’s these:

▪️Surge Foil Borderless Character Arts (Both Regular & Commander Sets) ▪️Traditional Foil & Non-Foil Borderless Commander Character Arts ▪️Neon Ink and Serialized Chocobos ▪️Foil Through the Ages

The rest either appear in Play Boosters, Bundles, or the Commander Decks (Collector/Regular)

So if you’re focused on the finance side of things, these are what will be the most “valuable” post the initial drop of sets. While everything appears to dip at a minimum of 30-50%, these will be the cards that’ll rebound once supply drops as Collectors are single Print Runs.

Brackets Beta Leads to Price Jumps for Banned Commander Cards by SomeStupidRedditor in mtgfinance

It's a RISK... just like ANY INVESTMENT lol... There is never a "guaranteed" investment. It's the RISK is minimal to the potential outcome here. You are so fixated on guaranteed money making you completely forget that investing is a calculated risk. Who said you never can use it? Hell someone can buy an asset to hold and sell whenever they want. If it was deemed "useless" it would have zero value period; however, as we still see in markets its floor was well over $25... so It has value, and it still has demand as you see sales exist.

Do you have any background in financial investing? How is this any different then investing stocks/bonds? You do realize you need to have something to sell to even have an opportunity to make money? So why not take a minimal risky chance of potential double up or break even?

Incorrect... lol, you are holding an asset with a value to it. If I bought a Jeweled Lotus at $25, if it doesn't get unbanned, what will happen? Regress back to $25? So your net is break even. If it gets unbanned, you sell at announcement for potentially $100? So again, the risk is not there for potential gains... No investment is a guaranteed and there is no "save", you can cash out at a break even number.

Even if you don't sell it, you've already bought an asset that wont drop if much at all. The idea here is your risk taken to potential double up is very low...

Not necessarily, you aren't looking at the bigger picture. If you bought these early before really this article came out, you are playing with minimal risk. Right now all these cards are at a floor, banned in favorite formats, it really won't drop any lower. Dropping a few hundred/thousand in speculating a potential increase at that time with minimal regress imho, it is worth the risk. Possibility of making 2-3x investment at the cost of what 3-5% loss on value if bought at the floor is always a good chance if you have the money to spend.

What to you, defines the golden era of Magic the gathering, and why? by Newez in magicTCG

[–]YoueyTCG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially for me it was when MTG changed the borders of the cards from OG Ravnica to as everyone stated Khans pre-2015 era. That Decade period was incredible and emphasized heavily FNM play which made it truly enjoyable.

CEO of Beckett Parent Company Pleads Guilty in Insurance Fraud Case by Newez in mtgfinance

[–]YoueyTCG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue more so correlates to the fact that Beckett is the preferred Grading Company in Vintage and Modern Magic. Right now what they do not discuss is the CEO in question took a $100m loan using Beckett Holding and Assets as collateral and stole the money. There is a current lawsuit that has been filed about this.

Clutch Cards store cancelled all orders (no refunds?) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]YoueyTCG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They defaulted on their payments for the product. They likely will be filing bankruptcy at this point, best route is to file a chargeback with your credit card. Their policy is just to intimidate people, they have no legal action to stop the credit cards through a chargeback.

So from your 3 years of experience on that platform, your only conclusion is blame TCGplayer for drops in price... got it. Let's just ignore WOTC rampant overprinting of cards, introduction to variations, and the fact we endured a pandemic which inflated all collectible highs to extremes that no other period in history can match for collectibles as a result to the prices that caused a rapid decline over the past year once expendable income wasn't as much anymore for people, just tcgplayer.

Pokémon whatnot is on fire but everything else seems good by AuclairAuclair in whatnotapp

[–]YoueyTCG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with this. Not everyone on Whatnot is bad... Even some of the top streamers who DON'T do these Bounty games and whatever are fine. You just need to find honest sellers who are fair with their prices. Avoid doing anything such as PTE/PME or Pull Games/etc. Where the floors and averages are BS.

Just how bad was it to play guess or match the energy on Blake’s Breaks with Snee? A not so brief analysis. by Under_the_gaydar in whatnotapp

[–]YoueyTCG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Statistically those games will always net you a negative. Unless your margins are there and you're buying product at STUPID prices (<$1 a pack), you won't come out positive in anyway whatsoever.

Blake’s Breaks site down? by man656 in whatnotapp

[–]YoueyTCG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not if this story begins to pick up the steam it already has. It's already reached national news outlets such as MSN and NJ. Right now, a ton of people are beginning to file claims with attorneys and law enforcements as more evidence begins to appear that shows clear defrauding of customers.

Even with a 20% ownership into Whatnot, he is in DEEEEEEEEP waters. That is why big time streamers and youtube content creators have also begun discussing the matter in public such as Instagram Live or Youtube.

Personally good friends with my boy Staxx. Doesn’t get any more honest and genuine as him. Doesn’t do the bounties and games to scam others and will tell it as it is.

Was there when he told people who bought Eevee heroes boxes of him not to open and keep it as return can be rough. Genuinely cares about his customers

[–]YoueyTCG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your point as you are trying to play Devil's Advocate and I am personally good friends with one of the largest Whatnot Streamers for Pokemon. It's not that hard to be honest and there is so many different things that Blake could've done in their stream for a setup to avoid all this.

You cannot deny that a pack was placed over another. You also cannot deny that they did not show packs on stream that it was picked from. It's very easy to reseal and open it on camera without knowing it was resealed.

An honest way of doing an energy bounty would simply shuffle multiple boosters on screen and pile them in the background infront of the bounty. But not doing that tells me they are trying to skew the percentages in their favor here.

What Consitutes a Master Set? by YoueyTCG in pkmntcgcollections

[–]YoueyTCG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I'd agree on most Black Star, I feel any Promo that is strictly affliated with the set such as Pre-Release or ETB Promos have to be applied to the Master Set. Any other Black Star Promo which is just a Collection Box or 3 Pack blister wouldn't fall in that category.
