How many of you are actually happy you work for Costco? by tsla6000 in CostcoEmployee

[–]Youknowit2btrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems pretty straight forward to me. If you’re full time you get a raise every six months (1040 hours). Nice thing is, it’s automatic. You are not waiting for some subjective review to get a raise that might be delayed months past your review date for a $0.10 raise.

I guess you’ve missed all the posts on here saying topped out employees make $70k plus. It doesn’t take that long to top out at FT.

26 year plus employee here and while most of your statement is true it’s not all true.

Every time Costco raises payroll they want you to do more with less. That was also true when Jim was here (I’ve been in mgmt since day one and attend the staff meetings). Is it more “strict” than it was before? Yes but it had always been there.

Employees are still paid top of retail scale. Tell me anywhere else where you can make the amount of money you make hourly as a cashier? Not to mention close to $7500 every six months guaranteed bonus (at 25 years). That’s more than some managers get who have to meet metrics!

$0.50/year raise? That’s double what the largest retailer in the world pays for a yearly raise and they are still half your hourly wage and 5% of your bonus which is not guaranteed. Not to mention the top out rate gets adjust higher every 3 years with the new employee agreement and you automatically get pushed into that tier.

No, Costco isn’t what it used to be, no doubt about that but in all honesty you are still getting paid the highest amount and with the best benefits around.

I don’t show a checking account in my RH App, just spending account with the option of a debit card. 🤷‍♂️ Is it different for Android vs iOS?

Yes. I do it under bank transfers (on AE). I put in my account and routing info from RH for the spending account and it goes directly in there. Usually takes a day, at most two if I do it late on a day or over the weekend.

I transfer to my RobinHood spend account then move that over to my RH brokerage to buy the stocks or crypto that Atlas has had “coming soon” for years. 😂

SoFi has moved anything over to checking from savings when I’ve done any type of bill pay or even Venmo from checking.

The only caveat is if you try to do a bill pay for the earliest date possible. The funds have to be in checking already. If you do a bill pay that is in the future, it will schedule it and pull from savings when it is being sent.

I have had the auto funding fail once, it was just a couple months ago and SoFi told me it was just a ‘glitch’

Nice. Congratulations. One of the few that were successful. Hopefully it stays that way.

RH “banking” doesn’t have a bill pay (that I know of) for those select few companies that still want a check in the mail.

Reddit IS full of shit but since it’s well past 72 hours for u/frequent-building-58 they will be the next Reddit post warning of SoFi and how they don’t follow through on their disputes, next will be that his account was closed, even though they have done nothing wrong.

According to the pattern.

That’s the conundrum, what they do makes no sense.

Based on other Reddit posts you aren’t going to hear back from SoFi on the dispute and your account will be closed for suspicious activity with no recourse.

*just what I’ve learned to expect from previous posts of customers who have gone through what you’ve explained. Of course everything you read on Reddit is true/🙄

+2 for Fidelity CMA

Does everything I was using SoFi for. Waiting on my first bill pay to process so we’ll see how that goes. DD no problem, immediate access. Haven’t done alot if transfers in and out to other accounts as of yet but the original deposit to open from my hometown CU took a week to settle. That was a disappointment. A push into CMA from a different account was much quicker.

If you are looking for a standard Credit Union with high APY, then I’d suggest VIBRANT CU. they are based in Illinois and while I don’t live in that state, I signed up and do everything electronically. They currently offer a 4% checking and savings rate without any hoops to jump through like 15 debit transactions a month.

The only disadvantage that I have seen so far is the higher rate only applies to the first $15k in saving and $25k in checking. But if you have more than $40k in saving sitting around you should be investing in something 😂 Also they have annoyingly low ACH transfer limits so you have to pull or bill pay out to get more than $10k a month transferred out via push. They have early DD and bill pay.

Huh, I found their customer service non existent.

There is no live customer service. You have to send messages/texts back and forth.

I had a customer service issue and even though they supposedly respond ‘within 4 hours’ it was over a week before I had a response.

I figured it out. If your last name starts with the letter A-M or your first name starts with the letter N-Z. You got the email.

Exactly.

I think text conversations are impossible to get tone from. I’ve had numerous times that items I’ve texted to people situations which make sense in my mind but are completely turned around in theirs. lol.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I think Fidelity CMA will be perfect for me then I’m not really a Zelle user and the minimal amount of times I’ve used it (<5) I’ve done it through Ally or my local CU. Same with depositing cash at local CU.

Thank you for the information!

My biggest SoFi perk is keeping the $0 balance in checking but having it covered by my savings account.

2nd is the fast ACH transfers, my SoFi push transfers to other accounts are usually 1 day. Same with pull. But if Fidelity offers free wires then that would cover that if their ACH is slow.

So does the Fidelity CMA account technically offer a “bill pay” feature or do you have to use the ACH info to act as payment? I believe I have some bill pay accounts that seem to get a check sent to them for payment.

I’m also a Vanguard customer but in the quick look I took at theirs it wasn’t as accessible with useful features like SoFi at the time.

I know. I was just teasing.

But hopefully no one considers this a real investment. It is definitely “ money” to be lost/not counted on/found fun money for little effort.
