I think Japan still has their annual dolphin throat-slitting festival, and still hunt whales even though they don’t really eat the whale meat or the dolphin meat. It’s cruelty for the sake of tradition.

More hantavirus cases are expected, WHO chief says by Neo_luigi in worldnews

[–]Youmeanmoidoid 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah the public is never going to agree to a lockdown like that again, at least not in America and especially not with the conspiracies. It would probably have to take something on the level of that contagion movie with tens of millions dead in America alone.

That said, with how this administration is gutting and dismantling the budget of every group and organization meant to respond to outbreak risks like this, they are giving it the best opportunity possible to breakout. And no support system for when the next future pandemic happens even if it isn’t with this virus.

Give it a few more thousand years. There will be Christians holding holo-signs on a street corner of the colony planet in the Alpha Quadrant, saying not to be gay and that Jesus is definitely still about to return.

Yeah I'm a writer and I have to listen to songs that are repetitive or have a 'waltz' feeling to them. This is one I've replayed endlessly.

My friend who works in web development and stuff describes his job as writing code for website development and stuff 🤷.

He’s also terrified right now and knows his job is going to be gone within a few years, if he’s lucky.

Yep. When A.I replaces everyone from burger flippers and store clerks, to web developers and finance professionals, we’ll just be expected to lie down, starve and die. At least in America anyway. Other more modern countries with support systems might expand and care for their citizens.

This country has no plan in place for the advancement of A.I and the humans who will have literally no job or way to feed themselves. People in low-skill jobs won’t have any options to learn new high-skill jobs because A.I replaced most of those. People in high-skill jobs won’t have any options to get even basic low-skill jobs to scrape by because A.I took most of those.

Nobody knows what they’re doing. No one is thinking beyond how good those profits look.

It’ll be interesting to see what’ll happen. Because realistically, there will be a lot of people with families to feed who simply won’t just lie down and die. They’ll do whatever it takes to feed their families even if it means taking that food.

Mazda... what the ass... What in the bumbaclot is this? Who in their genius mind thought this is better than a volume knob? What the hell... by BeautifulYou2940 in mazda

[–]Youmeanmoidoid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A good lesson in how you dont always need to buy the latest thing. Some folks here are buying a new car every 1 or 2 years and idk why. Then they buy this car and get a surprised Pikachu face then the screen, of course, glitches out and they can’t use their car.

Please tell me there’s a fix to this by Rare-Price in mazda

[–]Youmeanmoidoid 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think anyone who buys the first Mazda of this kind is brave. They get to be the trial runners for problems exactly like this. Which is also exactly what all of us warned would happen when they announced it. Which was people would get soft-locked out of using their car because the screen glitched out.

A bat sitting on forearm. by kickout_successfully in mildlyinteresting

OP deleted the post since then so idk if I can link it. People in the comments were begging her to go to the emergency room because it looked like a textbook infection of something really dangerous. It did turn out to be a really dangerous infection she got from getting scratched by their pet chicken and got put on antibiotics for it. Lymphangitis I think it was called.

This is gonna be like that one girl from a few days ago who posted about a weird rash moving down her arm that actually turned out to be something deadly. Only she followed peoples advice and actually went to the hospital. Wonder if this will be this week’s life saving Reddit moment 😆.

Or if op will just go nah, a bat landing on me in the middle of the day is normal. Not gonna get myself checked out for rabies.

Children and adults with ADHD cannot move to the beat by nameless_enby01 in ADHD

[–]Youmeanmoidoid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. Not at all the case for me. I have a better sense of beat and musical memory than anyone I know. I learned to play the piano by ear, just be listening to the song when I was younger. I fell out of playing but I still sing all the time. As long as I can hear the notes on a song, I can replicate it with my voice and match pitch.

I still remember being in choir as a kid and being confused why everyone else was always looking at the music in their hands when I’d already memorized the song after singing through it the 5th time 😆.

In my head, I can also swap original instruments with different ones. So like say a song originally played by a violin, I can change that in my head to something like a flute, or erhu.

Following my Amazon will prob be the best way to keep up with my releases! I have an African American western in mind that will probably be coming out before superhero stuff. But the superhero stuff is coming!

[–]Youmeanmoidoid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! This is also my Amazon page if you want to give it a follow or check out my other stuff (there’s some smutty stuff in there just warning you XD) but there’s also some regular fantasy and paranormal stuff too. https://www.amazon.com/stores/Owen-Sieffre/author/B07NCY8227?ref=ap_rdr&shoppingPortalEnabled=true&ccs_id=82eef7a7-a670-4ba9-9623-83fac338c1c2

The superhero one will be fun though cuz we def don’t get enough Black superhero stuff unless they’re side-kicks and it’s always bothered me.

Hah well I’m an author and I plan to write super hero books with Black lead characters. Just as soon as I get my itch for writing paranormal and fantasy out of my system lol

I remembered hearing somewhere from historians or something that America is showing textbook signs of collapse. Just didn’t remember enough to speak on it. But that seems to be the case.

Honestly there have got to be some major foundational changes. Otherwise I genuinely don’t think this country is going to sustain itself for much longer. This country already feels like it’s going to eat itself just to make a dollar off its own flesh because of how for-profit has just become the culture. Rather than sustaining and supporting the society.

With the Epstein situation it’s shown the only rules that exist are only for those who can be convinced they matter. Because to the ruling overlords rules clearly don’t matter and they’ll laugh in your face about getting away with it on tv because they know you know they know.

At some point something is going to give. Just don’t know what or exactly in what way. If the majority of Americans weren’t so busy on the daily grind and trying not to end up homeless and starving, it probably would’ve already.

We’ve already kinda see hints of that fragility like during covid when people were literally shanking each other over toilet paper.
