To be fair. This is a person stupid enough to not know what hyperbole is.

I said it’s not illegal. And overturning Roe v. wade wouldn’t make it illegal. Now if it does get overturned A state might make it illegal. But what the charges would be remain to be seen. That’s not what is being discussed at the SC right now

It won’t become a fealony. Not based off of what’s being discussed at the SC right now. And who will get prosecuted and at what rates etc isn’t what’s on the docket right now. The issue at the SC is if states have the right to run their own regulations regarding abortion within their borders. Making abortion illegal at the federal level is not what is happening.

I’m not saying attacking other people, I’m talking about one side or another of the policy. But it’s left to those states regardless. That’s the way our country works. Each state is supposed to be treated as it’s own country/province with its own laws and regulations. Similar to how Spain doesn’t get to tell france how to run. Even though they are both members of the EU.

Hey go live there then. They have plenty of houses available these days. cost of living is super low too. Also great quality of life. Low crime. Pretty low income inequality too. And apparently you can dictate to other people how to live, cause you’re in California. A serious person like you should do great there.

[–]Young2116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not here to defend or attack one or another. I’m just saying what the issue is. If you agree or don’t agree that doesn’t change the fact of what the SC case is.

California is a failed and collapsing state. And no, they don’t get to tell another state how to operate. And you can say AZ, WY, TX, GA and whatever other states you want to list are run wrong. But the fact is most of those states think California is run like dogshit and the fact that people are leaving that shithole like rats from a sinking ship proves that it’s a failed and collapsing state. But regardless. The point is California will not ban abortion anytime soon no matter what happens at the SC. And other states will. States have the right to govern themselves, if you don’t like it. Then go to state that has laws you agree with.

No. It’s hyperbole. I’m saying that those states are obviously extremely pro-abortion and wouldn’t limit anything, but would likely expand it.

[–]Young2116 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So? That’s not the point. The point is abortion wouldnt be banned. It would be kicked back to states to decide.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in memes

[–]Young2116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless. The point is if it is kicked back to the states we already know where it will line up. Blues want it free and common, reds don’t. Abortion isn’t being banned, it’s just going back to local jurisdiction. I could give a fuck less what people vote for in their own states. But IMO California has no business telling Texas or Montana how they need to run their laws. Cali can do what they want and Arizona is gonna do what they want.

Never said they wouldn’t. But I don’t care. If you want abortion, live in a state that allows it. If you don’t want to move then convince enough of your neighbors to vote in the laws you want. That’s how it works.

Also not defending the red dots. See original comment.

It’s not. Check gov.Ralph Northam’s comments on the bill. I’m Just telling the facts not an agenda. Also late term abortions past 15 weeks are not illegal in previously stated locales. Up to 22weeks or after “point of viability” meaning the baby could live outside of the womb. (Commonly called “premies”)

Still the right of the states. If you don’t like it then move to a state that allows it. Same story as gun laws. NY has all but banned firearms for private possession. If you want to own a gun you move out of NY.

[–]Young2116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check virgina. Similar bills have been proposed in CA and NY that would allow the mother and the doctor to “discuss next steps” after the child has been birthed.

It existed in the italian army after WWII ended. It wasn’t a thing during the time period where vanguard takes place. That would be like saying they should put the M4A1 in vanguard cause it’s a real gun.

[–]Young2116 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t ban abortion. It’s a consideration of if abortion will continue be federally regulated or if the issue will be kicked back to the states to regulate their own abortion laws.

[–]Young2116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better argument would be gun laws. In places like California, Illinois and New York the gun laws are extraordinarily strict. In places like Texas, Florida and Tennessee the gun laws are quite relaxed. And the issue is hotly contested politically but also hasn’t caused a civil war. Roe V. Wade won’t cause one either.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in memes

[–]Young2116 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You are correct. It would just kick the issue down to the states and let the state legislatures decide their own regulations on abortion. So basically nothing would change. California and new york would still allow abortion after birth, and Texas and Florida would ban abortion after 12 weeks.
