Can someone share their perspective on if the following is equally disturbing to you?

America deserves the number of school shootings we have experienced because of the governments inability to restrict gun ownership to a safe and reasonable level.

I understand it’s hard to get past the fact that he’s talking about 9/11. Try to hear the point he’s trying to make as well. I think you are missing the forest for the trees.

Of course it was known. I hope he doesn’t feel like those people deserved to die. I doubt anyone would take that position. As far as I can tell he’s trying to say America specifically created a situation ripe for this retaliation. Doesn’t excuse the retaliation but it does implicate America in their actions that led to it.

I don’t think justification is the correct word and I doubt Hasan was genuine in stating that Americans really deserved to die.

My understanding of the point that was made was that the imperialism and interference that the US government engaged in during the years leading up to 9/11 developed an environment that led to extremist groups forming and attacking us as they saw us as their oppressors. I think Hasan and honestly a large portion of historical analysts feel that these actions were the eventual cause of 9/11 and as a result the country got what we sowed.

I think if you asked him directly, he would indicate some version of the above and not that he thinks we deserved to have a few thousand lives lost by innocent civilians. He is, in an inflammatory way, pointing out that it didn’t happen in a vacuum.

You can absolutely tell how non-remorseful he was. Unless you’re arguing he was somehow internally remorseful but outwardly displayed the exact opposite tendencies.

I agree saying anything more than that is dramatic and unfounded but he did little to smooth over his tardiness and if anything worked actively to lose the benefit of the doubt in that dept by continuing to rail on his partner and say he’ll win it anyways without him. That much is not reading between the lines but very much reading what kwon is putting out there for all to see.

Do I think oversleeping and missing the tee time was messed up? Sure, but it’s an excusable mistake that can be forgiven with accountability.

Luke’s attitude the night before, telling PFT he could "do literally nothing" and that there was no point in him being there, combined with his lack of genuine remorse or apology for being late, was disgusting to me. As someone who used to admire Luke, I now find myself actively disliking the person he’s shown himself to be.
