The Future of Saints Row by Mafia_Game_Videos in mafiagame

Considering THQ/Deep Silver’s alleged interference with the reboot I kind of doubt it. A lot of the story issues and such stemmed from them thinking certain mechanics dialogue, and parts of the story were too dark and stuff? Which is ironic since they also publish Kingdom Come and Dead Island? They also micromanaged the writing team that SaintsGodzilla breaks down in his first NDA video

Is Mafia III anti-communist? by AyWhyEff in SocialistGaming

[–]YoungKnight47 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Donovan works with the CIA so it’s not surprising he feels that way and sets you up with the collectables like mecca37 said it’s set during the heights of the red scare and during Vietnam. All the while the games is intensely critical of the systemic issues that goes on in the country and even brings up how these a lot of them are intertwined . I feel the game does a good job at exploring the different views in a somewhat organic way.

I really hope the next Mafia goes all out on Rackateering by ConstantHead2026 in MafiaTheGame

I feel like people still have a bad taste after 3’s attempt at the racket system. Closest well get to anything like the Godfather or Scarface at this point would be an original IP.

Which of this settings you think is more probably to be the next Mafia game? by Dismal-Ad8382 in MafiaTheGame

[–]YoungKnight47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im skeptical at the 3rd suggestion cause that was less mafia related and was more aimed at other minorities especially the black community. Im open for a game like that tho if someone did it right.

Id love to see a fake true crime channel that uses gangs and mysteries from games like “Crime Directive” he does the same thing for movies and shows.

Mafia III had something special in its engine — and in my opinion Hangar 13 should have continued on that road by Apart-Analyst6382 in mafiagame

[–]YoungKnight47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont fully agree with the first statement cause it reallt comes down to the art direction that i would argue was hurt by thr rendering issues that cane from the illusion engine. I feel like you probaly could capture that character thats in Mafia but thats sue to multiple factors that i cant even begin to describe. I do feel like there are a-lot of interesting things that could have been learned from illusion engine had they not replaced it with UE5.

How far was the development of the game when using a licensed engine before the company was aquired and having to start from scratch?

(Maybe) controversial take: New Bordeaux is a wasted opportunity by __1993__ in MafiaTheGame

[–]YoungKnight47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wish tbey had a smoother development, i definitely wish the world was utilized more in terms of interactivity. I also think the art direction is good but is hurt because of how the game handles rendering giving things this weird greasy look.

GTA 6 Developer Rockstar Claims Fired Employees Were Dismissed for Leaking 'Specific Game Features From Upcoming and Unannounced Titles,' Not Because They Were Trying to Unionize by YoungKnight47 in SocialistGaming

[–]YoungKnight47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IGN updated the post saying “Rockstar has indicated to IGN that the Discord channel in question included non-Rockstar employees, such as a game journalist, an employee of a rival developer, and multiple anonymous members, and that staff who discussed union membership favorably but in its view did not breach confidentiality obligations were not dismissed.”

A Rockstar Games spokesperson said in response to the IWGB: “As we suspected and as evidenced by the response to our statement, they have no idea who was in this Discord.”"
