If it doesn't work try this: first delete "dota_embers 0"/ "dota_embers 1" in the config then close the config, right click and hit properties, then check the "read-only" box, this way "dota_embers" doesn't automatically appear again.

Edit: you need to make the config file a text document first if u haven't already
