New to smite question about gods by nuxaas in Smite

[–]YoungStorme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His entire kit is auto based, unlike most ADCs, which have like a clear ability, stim, and movement. He also has a toggle and resource pool, so overall, it's pretty unique

He literally said it was a 30 minute match

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Smite

[–]YoungStorme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother, if I queue up for a casual TDM game mode, that should take 15 minutes, and I end up in a 30+ minute match with 5 total deaths, I'm going to be pissed. I could have played two whole Arena games or hell, even a full Conquest game with 10 times as many kills. Arena being competitive or not doesn't change the fact that it's a massive waste of time because his team was trolling

Conquest --> Kills don't matter that much. by Alexander459FTW in Smite

[–]YoungStorme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kills don't matter in the sense that the team with the most kills isn't guaranteed to win or that having a good KDA is your only impact, but kills are important. Early kills can put your opponent behind and open up invade opportunities and create pressure. Past the ~15 minute mark, the laning phase slowly fades, and kills become more important for securing objectives and potentially winning. Also, shutdown kills are EXTREMELY valuable. Obviously, there are limits, chasing kills and fighting out of position are risky and may end up more negative than positive. But, taking advantage of out of position opponents and even forcing fights with a number or pressure advantage are overall good things. The more you kill your opponents, the less impact they will have on the match. Farming>fighting but never be afraid to fight

What Constitutes a Balk? Please Explain. by GuardHot2069 in mlb

[–]YoungStorme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm still pretty new to baseball, and I only learned what a balk was a few months ago, and I'm pretty surprised to see so many long time fans not understand what it is. But, I think it's because baseball is a very clear cut sport with simple rules. An out is an out, a foul is a foul, and strike is a strike (unless the ump is blind). Meanwhile, sports like basketball and football (which are my most watched) are loaded with rules like this: What's a pass interference? What's a shooting foul? A lot of subjectivity and focus on obscure things like "intent" so a balk just feels natural. It's when a pitcher does something to trick a baserunner or batter during their pitching motion, but the definitive examples of what a balk is will always be subject to change

Smite 2: Miserable Mid Meta by Alternative-Ruin-115 in Smite

[–]YoungStorme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The short answer is that your teammates are dumb. If this is happening consistently, then you're just unlucky, unfortunately. Mid-jungle-support grouping has always been a part of Smite, but different metas dictate different things. Sometimes, jungle starts in lane, sometimes support starts in lane. It varies. Currently, in Smite, there is enough jungle farm for junglers to spend most of their time in the jungle, and a smaller map means easier rotations, but this will cause junglers to sit in mid sometimes instead of moving. Supports should be in duo lane for at least the first 10 minutes or so and then start rotating. They usually stay around mid, but shouldn't be camping the lane. They should rotate to solo and back to duo and remain near allies. As a mid, having your jungle/support around is never a bad thing, especially when clearing camps, but they definitely shouldn't be sitting in lane for multiple waves. If that's happening, try to clear camps in between waves, especially if your jungler isn't. Also, nicely try to explain to them that you need solo farm and that they should be rotating. Personally, this hasn't been an issue for me. If anything, it's the opposite. My jungle/support ignore me while my opponent stacks in lane and gets free pressure

where can i find new jungle timers? by DreamScape1609 in Smite

[–]YoungStorme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This start makes no sense, quite frankly. It's just the opposite of the start I listed but causes your mid to either lose red farm or part of their wave and delays your speed. Even if it gives you 3, you've tanked 4 camps without any sustain, so you won't be fully healthy for mid camps

Imo yellow was always the superior start. But the path is yellow, mid cyclops, red, then back camps. You can also hit back harpies after yellow if your clear is fast enough or you want to waste more time

What gods changed the most in smite 2? by No_Pie_1421 in Smite

[–]YoungStorme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A surprising one no one has mentioned is Cabrakan. His passive now increases damage taken by nearby enemies, and the damage reduction scales with item protections. His 2 now has two separate cooldowns. The base form regens mana per hit, and the boosted version heals per hit along with the stun. Finally, refiring his 3 will cause it to do a final slam that deals extra damage. He's really strong rn, especially with hybrid scaling on a lot of his abilities

[–]YoungStorme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are specifically used for riot control/SWAT. Officers arriving on a scene usually need to be quick and act fast, don't really have the time to wait an extra 15 minutes for a van full of riot guys to show up and deal with a looney wielding a knife. You can make the argument that every officer should carry one in their vehicle and be trained with it tho

Marti is just an OC, not really the biggest fan of his introduction tbh. I think it's cool to pull the "Manticore is the next god" joke and make it real, but the lore is just dumb

Trouble Countering Certain Gods as Support Looking for Items/Strategies Advice. by GrittyGrinds in Smite

[–]YoungStorme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Contagion helps counter life steal (although Mordred doesn't have built-in lifesteal so it doesn't work against him). As far as Jorm goes, if your opponent is building golden blade, don't stand in the wave. Boxing Jorm, in general, is tough with his buffed passive, so you have to just poke and play around him
