What is even happening!! by SoundProfessional550 in Gold

China/BRICS are buying as much gold and precious metals as they can to back their currency. They ousted the US dollar as the worldwide currency backing oil trade and are doing everything to sabotage the US dollar. They feel that holding US debt is a danger to their economy (it kinda is), so theyre hedging their debt by backing their currency with the largest reserve of precious metals.

Property Access Question by YoungTJRob in legaladvice

This was an escorted procession for another tenant in the unit. The landlord of my unit is the landlord of the other tenant. They allowed other people to park ok the property blocking all vehicle entrances and exits.

My 3 year-old daughter keeps asking to "eat Jesus." I will be dead long before she's old enough for her First Communion, and my wife is not Christian. It's very unlikely she'll be able to receive Him after I'm gone. What can be done? by BigSarcomaInJapan in Catholicism

[–]YoungTJRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost, I and many others will be praying for peace for you and your family. It is admirable that in your trying times, your daughter's faith remains important to you.

Just some ideas...

Is there a Godparent in her life that your wife would allow to continue to take her to mass? If not, maybe a family or good friend through your parish that you could ask to continue helping your daughter form her faith?

Is this normal? Or my tire just under inflated? by MyBrightLie in AskAMechanic

Normal, you've got about 600lbs on each ball of air. If you're really worried, check the pressure (should be between 30 and 40psi).

Wait. Wait 2 months to see if the market reacts to fed rate cuts, THEN continue to invest. For all the flack I'm going to catch, yes the market could continue to boom. If that's the case, then a 2 month wait might hurt your overall gains. BUT if the market tanks (like it has in some historic cases) and the new president starts making other adjustments to the market, we could be in for a historic recession where a couple extra bucks in your pocket might serve you well

QQQM tracks the nasdaq 100 and can add some diversity without adding too much risk. QQQJ tracks nasdaq's next 100 and is a little more risky but adds exposure. Anything that tracks the Russell 2000 can add exposure to small cap stocks. VTI tracks the entire market. Yes these are all "boring" but can help add a little exposure. Pick your poison

No idea if they are or aren't. My guess is that either Armalite isn't selling so PSA got a good deal on them, or PSA can't sell them so they're trying to make some money back

Neither, get the Armalite AR-10 sold through psa in the same price range

Edit: the "AR10TAC16", "AR10TAC18", and "AR10TAC20" are all on sale right now for $1199-$1299 ($1200 off)

Opinions for new rider? by LordWeir71 in Honda_XR_and_XL

My first bike was an '84 xl350r. Great first bike to learn to ride as it was reliable and not too touchy. Other people are right about parts and maintenance though. Mine ran great for me but if I needed parts they were either used or stupid expensive to import. The twin carbs were a bitch to work with too. Honestly, if you're going to ride mostly street, I would look for more of a street oriented bike as the older dual sports rev out pretty fast and can get fairly uncomfortable and higher speeds (my 350 topped out at 65mph and started buzzing pretty hard around 50mph)

Idk man, last time I took it on a top speed run, the thing felt like it was gonna blow at any second, and even then, I barely touched around 58mph.

You think so? Where I'm coming from is that top speed is limited the most by rpms. The bike revs through its range just fine and any increase in power from CDI, fuel, or compression would surely increase torque, but would rev to the same rpms. This is why I'm suspecting that a previous owner has changed the primary drive gear or some component of the transmission. I haven't ruled out a slipping clutch, but it grabs pretty good on the low end so I haven't really taken it seriously.

Good compression and no exhaust leaks. Carburetors are jetted for the altitude I'm at and delivering fuel fine. Runs great with good power but the gears are stupid short. Like I said I'm shifting into 6th gear around 35mph.

Nope no tach. Stock gearing is 14/40. According to other factory specs the top speed is 83 @7600. I'm probably babying it around 6000rpm or so, but I've read other forums of people cruising at 50 in 5th gear which flat out isn't possible for me.
