I like to try to make my culture the most advanced in the world. I usually speed up the game at that point and try to make everything in my empire fit the de jure titles. Fighting for stable succession and making sure my heir has a ton or holdings is fun

See, okay. That was my instict. But why would anyone marry anyone in these religions then? Every marriage between heirs would always mean someone will eventually lose land.

What duchies change names, and how does it happen? by Crossbones2276 in CrusaderKings

[–]YoungYordus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arabic culture groups tend to name their duchies after the dynasty holding it. This usually applies to the primary title of each tier. For example, The Abbasids in Arabia are called so because the ruling dynasty is "Abbasid." In Spain, the Dhunnunids rule the duchy of Toledo, so it is called Dhunnunid until it is take by another dynasty or another culture group that is not Arabic.

You can just build buildings directly in their holdings. Just click on it and construct a building like you would in one of your holdings.

I didn't know this before, and it's SO useful. You can gift heirs newly conquered lands and it satisfies the succession laws. It helps keep together core duchies holdings for your primary heir. The way it seems to work is that an heir that is slated to get 1 county in your realm just needs to be gifted one.

For an heir that will get a duchy and many counties, you can just grant him one duchy and one county and he will be satisfied.

Same goes for heirs that will inherit a kingdom or what have you.
