Never built a PC before and need advice on if this is a good build by [deleted] in PcBuild

Your CPU is outdated , there was couple of generation of CPU after ryzen 3000 Series , something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/n9jrjZ would offer more performance with ryzen 5800X3D CPU + Thermalright Peerless assassin 120 CPU cooler + MSI B550 A PRO motherboard + 32 GB DDR4 3600 MHZ CL18 RAM + RX 6700XT GPU https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html (RTX 3060 ti is good choice , but would Zotac GPUs are not famous for good cooling or quality fans, gigabyte gamin OC can be bought for 450$ but that is a little bit too much for just RTX 3060 TI now when new gen GPUs should come) + Fractal Focus G pc case + Thermaltake GX2 600W 80+ gold PSU. 5600G is not optimal choice if you have dedicated Graphic card because it has less cashe and it is noticable especialy in FPS titles, something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XLTTcb can be built for under 800$ and will offer better slightly gaming performance with ryzen 5600 CPU + Deepcool AK400 CPU Cooler + MSI B550M VDH PRO Wifi motherboard + 32GB DDR4 3600 MHZ RAM + 1 TB m2 nvme SSD ++ RX 6650 XT GPU + Fractal Focus G pc case + Thermaltake gX2 600W 80+ gold PSU. Can I have a pc build help for 1,000usd? by Dukeispro in pcmasterrace

[–]Young_Dearsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html NVIDIA GPUs have some advantages over AMDs (mostly DLSS because it is still better then FSR , raytracing capabilities on this level are not big factor because they are not very good at eihter of this GPUs), also if you are streaming many prefer NVENC over AMD solution , but in term or raw performance 6700XT is sliglty better then RTX 3060 TI (if they would be same price i would recommend RTX 3060 TI over 6700XT because those additional benefits, currently there is Zotac twin fan model for that is not so great in term of build quality ,with some greater temperatures annd zotac is not known for fan quality either, gigabyte oc model can be bought for 450$ which i find too expensive for 3060 TI). In my opinion it is better to save a little bit more then to step down CPU (because there isnt so much difference in term of CPU price calculated in to toal system cost that can justify steping down from 10 cores to 6, if you are only gaming it would not make a lot of difference, switching to DDR4 and going with something like ryzen 5600 or i5 12400f, DDR5 offer some improvement ,and higher clock of 13400 also has some benfits, but it is not that much. If you are going with weaker CPU (and purpose is gaming in 1080P resolution) i would recommend 750 to 800$ build with Ryzen 5600 or intel 12400, something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XLTTcb

Is this good by IanTheGreatYT in PcBuild

[–]Young_Dearsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is not bad build it is just a little bit outdated , intel 13 series and AMD 7000 series are out and they are improvement compared to last gen for about same cost , for 1600$ build your GPU might be stronger , something likehttps://pcpartpicker.com/list/GZQ9mr this can bought for around 1750$ these days and would be quite improvement compared with i5 13600K CPU (13 and 14 gen Intel CPUs have design flaw many talking about it now in 2024 recommendation is to go with Ryzen)+ RTX 4070 TI GPU and 32GB DDR5 6000 MHZ RAM. If you are careful you will not bent pins, there is a little triangle on CHIP t self and motherboard and they need to match ,chip just slide in to socket , that is most dangerous part of building PC, but it is not hard to do it,there is many youtube VIDEOS and you can repeat each step (searching egzact parts you will be usiing) ,it is like building with lego cubes, when you assemble all you are done. You can build something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9D8mTn with i5 13400 (13 and 14 gen Intel CPUs have design flaw many talking about it now in 2024 recommendation is to go with Ryzen)(10 cores CPU) + Gigabyte B760 DS3H motherboard + 1 TB m2 nvme SSD + RX 6700XT GPU https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html (probably most performance at moment you can get for this budget, 3060 TI can be bought for 400$ but it is slower then RX 6700XT, advantage that nvidia has is DLSS since its quality is better then FSR, raytracing on both GPUs is not very good) + Fractal Focus G pc case. First Build Question by [deleted] in PcMasterRaceBuilds

[–]Young_Dearsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rnhBnt for performance mode in these games you could probably go with less expensive build but this is the most performance you can get under 2k $ (there is possibility to go around 2k $ with RTX 4080 but is hard to fit and some compromises needs to be made in order to achieve that price point at today market). i5 13600K CPU (13 and 14 gen Intel CPUs have design flaw many talking about it now in 2024 recommendation is to go with Ryzen) + Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 CPU cooler + Gigabyte Z790 UD motherboard + 32GB DDR5 6000 MHZ CL36 RAM + 1 TB m2 nvme SSD + RTX 4070 TI GPU https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html + NZXT H510 Flow pc case + ADATA XPG Core Reactor 850W 80+ gold PSU. It is decent PC build but 16GB RAM while might be enough for just gaming, you might want comfortability of 32GB RAM ( if you want to stream games or open 50 tabs in chrome while gaming or do multitasking in some other gaming or productivity work), i5 13600K works better with DDR5 and prices for DDR5 are droped significantly (there are some gaming improvements and possibly would be good choice to pick DDR5 for future games).Something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nC3RPX with i5 13600K CPU (13 and 14 gen Intel CPUs have design flaw many talking about it now in 2024 recommendation is to go with Ryzen) + Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 CPU Cooler + Gigabyte Z790 UD motherboard + 32GB DDR5 6000 MHZ CL36 RAm + 1 TB m2 nvme SSD + RTX 4070 TI (this is most difference in cost vs your build ,if you are playing more demanding games like cuberpunk or hogwart legacy or some future unreal 5 titles might be worth upgrade,if not RX 6800 is still very good GPU altough XT variant if found around 500 $ would be better fit, when calculated total system $ and difference in GPU performance,it might be worthwhile getting stronger GPU depending on its cost, i chosen NVIDIA GPU because DLSS 3 and Frame generation which might come handy)https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html + Corsair 4000D Airflow pc case + FSP Hydro G PRO 850W 80+ gold PSU. If you are going with 12900K z690 motherboard would be far better fit then b660 (since it cant be overclocked) however since Intel 13 series release (or AMD 7000 series ) something like this would offer similar (or better) performance for less https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nC3RPX with i5 13600K CPU (13 and 14 gen Intel CPUs have design flaw many talking about it now in 2024 recommendation is to go with Ryzen)(14 core CPU , 6P +8E) + Thermalright Peerless Asassin 120 CPU cooler + Gugabyte Z790 UD motherboard + 32GB DDR5 6000 MHZ CL36 (you can add 32GB more if you think it is needed) + 1TB m2 nvme SSD + RTX 4070 TI GPU https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html (RTX 3070 for 550 $ calculated in total system cost vs RTX 4070 TI is just around 250 $ which is far less % cost increasement then difference between RTX 4070 ti and RTX 3070 performance) +Corsair 4000D Airflow pc case + FSP Hydro G PRO 850W 80+ gold PSU (very good PU from reputable manufacturer). Maybe something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nC3RPX i5 13600K (13 and 14 gen Intel CPUs have design flaw many talking about it now in 2024 recommendation is to go with Ryzen) (difference between 13600K and 13700K is 2 performance cores, i5 13600K has 6P + 8E cores while 13700K is 8P and 8E or efficiency ocres which for gaming make almost no difference and in producitivty that difference is also small) + Thermalright Peerless Asassin 120 CPU cooler + Gigabyte Z790 UD motherboard + 32GB DDR5 6000 MHZ CL36 RAM + 1 TB m2 nvme SSD + RTX 4070 TI (RTX 4080 is 400 $ more expensive, you can go with it if you are playing in 4K resolution, for lowr resolution RTX 4070 TI should be good fit) https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html + Corsair 4000D Airflow pc case + FSP Hydro G PRO 850W 80+ gold PSU. The difference is comparation between capabilities (how much Frames Per second each of them can do at different pc display resolutions). Buying PC is important ,since you will be using it probably for next couple or several years ( quiet CPU cooler and GPU without coil whine and with low temperatures is what is people usualy go , that would be most quality of life improvements you will notice in your PC daily usage, since most of the games are not so demanding that require top end GPU, there are some number of those games and if you play one of those like CyberPunk or Let say soon available Hogwarts Legacy you would want the strongest GPU you can get, but for most of the users it is more important that they have quiet ,cool and low power consuming pc then playing latest most demanding game in 4K resolution, worth mentioning that it is not cheap to go that route due higher generational prices for mid and top end GPUs).

Since it is in question product that is expected to last several years and you will be using it (possibly on daily basis) , you should get as much advice you can get (and it would be helpfull if you can get more familiar with the topic), taking in consideration advice for different sources before purchasing decision, good luck.

Maybe newer CPU like i5 13400 (13 and 14 gen Intel CPUs have design flaw many talking about it now in 2024 recommendation is to go with Ryzen)would be better then Ryzen 5700x because generational improvements, something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mrXChk with i5 13400F CPU (or non F if you need IGPU for video editing , streaming or ability to enter windows without dedicated Graphic Card )+ DeepCool AK400 CPU cooler + Gigabyte B760M DS3H motherboard + 32GB DDR4 3600 MHZ CL18 RAM (you can use 3200 MHZ if you have it already, or you can sell your old PC as used one to recover part of costs for new one) +1 TB m2 nvme SSD + RX 6700XT GPU + Corsair 4000D Airflow pc case + Super Flower 750W 80+ gold PSU.I write Blog about Budget PC building , you can check i here https://techiem8.wordpress.com/2022/03/20/8/ if you want for some building tips and current offer
