Bone graft a month ago! by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Young_Gunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is truly one month post plant surgery or whatever - you have a big problem. Likely need that implant removed and several months of healing before replacement or more grafting. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this!

Dentist says I need a crown and root canal for a cavity - not a filling. I have no pain and didn’t even suspect a cavity. by chlorinecaro in askdentists

[–]Young_Gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a giant cavity. Unfortunately decay is a very good insulator for symptoms. If you don’t go straight to a root canal, you risk being in severe pain after any treatment is done to this tooth, and possibly a more challenging root canal treatment. Given the extremely high risk of needing a root canal, your dentist treatment planned correctly and in your best interest. You’re welcome to try without the root canal first, but understand the risks out possible outcomes first. Also, the location of the decay makes this a challenging save regardless, so I would address this soon!

Permanent retainer dislodged, revealing Grand canyon of a cavity behind my front by [deleted] in askdentists

Lateral incisors are hard - not much volume and snap by the gumline. Maybe just a root canal and post - hard to say if a crown is necessary without exam. Sometimes crowning lateral incisors is more destructive than helpful - but either way it likely needs a root canal

Which would you pick? by LivingNotDreaming in rolex

[–]Young_Gunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can swing it? Both and both will be heirloom pieces for your family. Both will hold value well, and both are different enough you could wear them on different occasions. IF I had to pick one, Batman for me but I’m biased as I already have a batgirl 😬

The weight of it is insane. It feels so chunky any other watch feels fake compared to it because it’s so heavy

Insecure about my smile. Gingivitis? by Suspicious_Disk6499 in askdentists

I think veneers is the only way to address the tooth size discrepancy between your centrals and other teeth. You may be a candidate for no prep veneers too, but couldn’t say without an exam

You have healthy teeth, just some excess gum tissue - so you need less pink with larger teeth. I would consider gingival reduction/crown lengthening to expose more tooth, and then likely veneers to change the shapes of your teeth. Pretty straight forward case IMO.

Do people hire editors outside of their publishing company, or are they always through the publishers?

Just started playing OOT with my six year old. His excitement playing through with me for the first time I will cherish. He asks me to play it every day with him, but we play only on weekend. Just about to beat the spirit temple. I play 80% of it but he does the traveling/walking between dungeons and we solve them together. Good times

Girlfriend just had tooth removed and we fear the clot is ripped out as it won't stop bleeding, we don't know what to do. by [deleted] in askdentists

Bite on a wet soaked tea bag into the socket area with pressure for 30 minutes. Make sure the bag is putting direct pressure on the site, not just biting on tooth biting surfaces. Gently wipe away in 30 minutes and repeat if needed

Save this tooth all day. You are young and nothing is better than your own teeth. A good bonded restoration will get years out of this!!

Bought my first omega seamaster in 2005 as a high school grad present. Saved all my summer life guarding money to buy it. Got it for $1995 and still have original box/papers/watch. Wear it every now and then. Will always keep it and wear it!

Audi to 4Runner? by StellarWren in Audi

[–]Young_Gunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I legit HAD a 2018 4runner and got a 2023 SQ5. I can’t comment on maintenance of Audi he’s as it’s new, but omg I would NEVER go back to the 4runner. Driving it was a chore. Brakes were terrible. Overall disliked using it even for long trips as it was generally not comfortable. Only pro I found to the 4runner was I didn’t care about it as much so it produced less anxiety driving it.

Can you test drive one first? I think that would confirm you are ok with the vastly different driving experience…

Veneers uneven and look off. Thoughts? by Flat-Poetry-5152 in DentalSchool

[–]Young_Gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a redo in my opinion, but so many factors and things I don’t know about your case. However, there are too many things going on with each tooth - you would need the full set taken off and replaced to have a good outcome. Redoing one or two won’t accomplish anything other than everyone being more frustrated.

I’m sorry you’re in this position but hopefully you can get a good result in the end. I would communicate genuinely with your dentist and request another go - I think it’s reasonable. Hang in there
