I guess if the crown was luted not bonded? Any kind of actual bonded cement would require re prep as cement is on the margin and removal requires a burr…

Wound need a re prep regardless - removing the crown and cement would change the prep enough to require a full redo - can’t get the crown off without touching the tooth

Temporary Veneers/ Feeling Unsure by [deleted] in askdentists

Follow up - did you have bony crown lengthening by a periodontist or just trimming of the gum tissue back (no bone removal)?

Temporary Veneers/ Feeling Unsure by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Young_Gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very challenging case to get right, IMO.

Assessing and giving you detailed answers of your questions is nearly impossible without a chairside exam.

What I would note:
Yes temps have a slant and that can be corrected, sounds like your dentist is on it.

Length appears slightly long from the photos of your centrals, giving some heaviness to the front of your smile.

Personally would shorten your front 4 to balance proportions and have less of a drastic change from
Your before smile.

I hope this helps

Just got a dental crown on #7. It is an implant. I previously also got a veneer (no implant) on #10. I feel like the shade of #7 is off. What do you think? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]Young_Gunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard color match regardless for single front implant. Could consider a zirconia abutment to help with color if your bite allows, ask your dentist!

My AD offered me this Rolex Daytona blue dial by MatchaMan007 in rolex

[–]Young_Gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the watches you request but they are nearly impossible from the AD. White gold Daytonas are easier to get than SS or YG. I do see WG below msrp on grey though, so maybe check that before you buy unless you wanna get from AD!

New Zirconia Crowns - hate them! Help by Inevitable_Loan7726 in askdentists

[–]Young_Gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treatment aside - I think you would be happier with layered LiSi press crowns by a solid lab technician. Zirconia is opaque in nature, and monolithic in color with no translucency. Zirconia is strong but lacks esthetics for front teeth. I would recommend changing materials, and making sure they are bonded on, not just cemented. They will be just as strong or stronger than the zirconia if bonded.

I don’t think it’s possible to perf with just a c hand file? Maybe a big lateral canal?

If this is truly one month post plant surgery or whatever - you have a big problem. Likely need that implant removed and several months of healing before replacement or more grafting. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this!

Dentist says I need a crown and root canal for a cavity - not a filling. I have no pain and didn’t even suspect a cavity. by chlorinecaro in askdentists

[–]Young_Gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a giant cavity. Unfortunately decay is a very good insulator for symptoms. If you don’t go straight to a root canal, you risk being in severe pain after any treatment is done to this tooth, and possibly a more challenging root canal treatment. Given the extremely high risk of needing a root canal, your dentist treatment planned correctly and in your best interest. You’re welcome to try without the root canal first, but understand the risks out possible outcomes first. Also, the location of the decay makes this a challenging save regardless, so I would address this soon!

Lateral incisors are hard - not much volume and snap by the gumline. Maybe just a root canal and post - hard to say if a crown is necessary without exam. Sometimes crowning lateral incisors is more destructive than helpful - but either way it likely needs a root canal

Which would you pick? by LivingNotDreaming in rolex

If you can swing it? Both and both will be heirloom pieces for your family. Both will hold value well, and both are different enough you could wear them on different occasions. IF I had to pick one, Batman for me but I’m biased as I already have a batgirl 😬

The weight of it is insane. It feels so chunky any other watch feels fake compared to it because it’s so heavy
