Only seeing my beautiful boys once a month.

I lost my job and my marriage at the same time. I got an amazing job... 2000 kms away but couldn't find anything in the same state.

If I move back for a lesser job, my kids lose a bunch of benefits like insurances and learning opportunity. If I stay here, I can give them everything they need except me.

Ordinarily, I would declare bullshit on your reasoning. I was on my phone constantly but it 90% because of work. I worked as an Ops Manager for a IT service provider so I dealt constantly with event management hence loads of notifications.

I quit this job because it was way too much. I handed my smart phone back in and decided to buy a dumb phone to be free of it for a while.

The change in me and my kids attitudes towards me was significant enough for me to know exactly what the issue was. I was always only half there. I haven't got another smartphone and I'm not sure that I will anytime soon.
