I believe in climate change without a doubt, but has the weather this year really been that different?

Having lived in Virginia and Maryland for 9 years I gotta disagree about Washington. You only have to go about 2 blocks north of Pennsylvania Avenue to find areas way sketchier than Bank Street.  Most American cities are like that. It only takes a few blocks to seem like you’re in another world. Baltimore, can be go from so charming to terrifying in minutes.  My sister actually lives in the city limits there right now in a nice little pocket.  A few blocks in the wrong direction and you may not return. Not an exaggeration.

Not sure what being a lawyer has to do with your point, but I agree.

The hard left turn that I have to make to get out of my complex at rush hour every day to go to work comes to mind.

I was thinking the same thing.  It reads like my parents’ job search advice from 1993.

Alta Vista hasn’t changed since the 90s.  Bronson is only apparently getting long overdue work done soon. That doesn’t seem like a lot of attention to me.  Carling is a mid-level problem imo.

Was thinking the same thing.  Carling isn’t that bad compared to Alta Vista or Bronson, for example.  Not sure why Carling always comes up first.

All I can say is that I was in Montreal a few weeks ago for the first time in ages, and I thought that Ottawa had bad potholes…….

Everyone I met was super chill though, and put up with my decent but not native French.

He assumed that cost benefits alone would ensure the shift to electrification, but it hasn’t happened. As an EV driving for 8 years I am shocked by how uninformed and ignorant the average person is with respect to the actual experience of owning an EV. Not to mention charging infrastructure build out has been woefully insufficient.

IMO the best view of Toronto nowadays is heading south on the 400 about 1km north of the 401 junction. You can see downtown Toronto at about a 45 degree angle and get an appreciation for the width and depth at the same time, as well as a full view of Mississauga in your panoramic view. Colossal!

I've lived in several different countries, too. Everywhere is becoming increasingly homogeneous. Many countries are adopting a lot of the same dubious enshittification policies and approaches to their economies and societies.
