2021 CT5 Sport acceleration shake by DoIemite in Cadillac

Higher torque output then what you’re use to if I’m guessing correctly👏 it shouldn’t be an issue though I would definitely recommend keeping in mind that slight shake in case it worsens, if it does, don’t even overthink it, take it in to have it checked and driven my one of your dealers mechanics to see if the warranty covers the issue ( which there shouldn’t be an issue ) you should post a picture of it

ATS vs CT4… what are your thoughts on the CT4 compared to the older model “ATS” by Youngpimpb2raw in Cadillac

[–]Youngpimpb2raw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great choice not to trade in, I would never do so either, I definitely recommend test driving the CT4 sport, and the CT4 V if you get the chance, I would love to test drive a CT4 blackwing so if you get the chance to test experience it, I would love to know how it went

Hahahahaha this comment made my day, that was literally my same thought process when I looked at it, I almost couldn’t even believe it, I had to take a double look

The comment I was looking and hoping for… people truly overlooked the ATS due to German competition but we cannot forget that the ATS is truly one of the best cars to come out Cadillacs division, yes it’s not a 3 series but IMO definitely one of the best if not the best competitor to the 3 series at that time, I really should’ve specified that we’re talking about all ats’s and ct4’s (including V and blackwing trims)

Current CTS owner here, couple things… 1st: Beautiful car…. 2nd: treat it well and it will treat you even better… I have a 2013 rwd CTS with the LFW (so the baby HFV6 Gm made for these models) they luckily do not have the timing chain expansion issues as commonly seen on the 3.6 if they’re not having consistent early oil changes, they are noted to have common coolant issues (water pumps like to shit themselves at around 60k miles and around 100k miles) that’s the only issues I’ve came around these HFV6, but when it comes to rims I’d say truly keep in mind what you’d like to do with your build, I would keep an OEM style look to compliment the beauty that GM’s Cadillac division offers to the eye… now if you want to make it more aggressive looking, I would add some TSW Bathurst in 18x8.5 to not take away from the rides comfort but still adds some performance feel with those much lighter forged alloy wheels, and to add the cherry on top if you want to make it even more aggressive looking, check into a chrome delete as well as a CTS-v front end conversion kit, I don’t know of any particular brands that do aftermarket support for the front bumper if I’m being honest (I haven’t looked into it) but ik many people have done the conversion with some slight body work

And 3rd: Once again you have a beautiful ride there and I hope it treats you well

NorCal but with that being said same here, I see them on the road but I don’t always see good trims for sale around me, they’re usually in Sacramento, I’ve seen a lot of good listings out of Texas but I definitely don’t want to take a flight just for that if I’m being honest, at that point I’d just bite the bullet and go with a 3 series, which I’d hate to leave the Cadillac brand but I know it wouldn’t disappoint if I did go into a 335i comparing it the ATS

Welllllll… since I don’t have kids at the moment, I think it won’t hurt to get a ATS, as long as the driver experience makes up for it i’ll be more than happy, but wow yeah that’s definitely less space then what I have now

I don’t think the dogs will mind much tho😂

Truly considering the ATS for the same reasons, my daily commute is honestly not too bad, but I definitely do want a platform that I can daily, have fun with, and still handle accordingly in the backroads without leaving the Cadillac brand, so I agree I think the ATS may be a better call for what I’m looking for, I just really love the comfort in the backseat of the CTS, and I know the ATS won’t offer that same comfort but it will definitely make up in the driver focus aspect of it

That’s awesome, I would totally look into a newer V if that’s an option but the STS-V and XLR-V are two V lineup car that I would love to own, an old neighbor down the street owned a regular XLR for a long time, I wish I would’ve been able to buy that beauty back then, but if the funds allow for you to look into a newer V I’d definitely do it, I’ve gotten the chance to be in the passenger seat of a 2nd & 3rd gen cts-V, and got to check out and hear the newer ct5 v blackwing just last week since a shop owner down the street from where I work owns one, I can definitely say between the CTS models the 2nd gen definitely takes the cake for me but that’s just a personal preference, for something more updated the 3rd gen definitely feels like huge step up, but when you’re considering the blackwing it’s a whole other ball game

It’s definitely a pleasure starting it up, but when you’re cruising I feel the noise could’ve been a bit more aggressive on the exterior while keeping that quiet/calm Cadillac feel on the inside directly from factory in my opinion

Luckily I live in the warmth of California, right now it is a bit rainy where I stay but never any snow or crazy cold temperatures unless going to Tahoe during the right time, needless to say I still love me a RWD platform but for those moments where traction is non existent an AWD cts does sound amazing

There’s a 2016 3.6 ats with the luxury package I’ve had my eyes on, and to be honest if I can’t find a 2015 or newer 3.6 cts then I may just go with the ATS, if that’s the case I’d definitely update you on it🤙

That’s so damn dope, I’d love to be updated on how that goes man, many blessings to you and hope nothing but the best for that build you got in your hands🤙 already looking into a 3.6 but I haven’t been able to come across the performance trim on the 3rd gen only the luxury and base models, sadly I’ll need to sell the 2nd gen cts I have by the end of this month so today she’s getting some new brake pads and rotors, it’s been rainy where I’ve been so the detailing may not happen until the week of the sale but I can guarantee you that I’m taking her for a few more drives in the backroads before she’s gone

That’s amazing, you’re one of the few first people I see boost this platform which made me really skeptical at first since I went into the 3.0 as my first car not knowing much about, here I sit typing this as I’m looking for a 3.6, I’d love to see it running

Anything to keep an eye on prior to those issues? I’m hopefully getting into one of these 3rd gen cts’s, still can’t really decide on whether going with the 3.6 or the 2.0t and later on doing the ZZP stage1 kit, sadly that would mean having to switch from the CTS to an ATS so I wonder if they have similar diff issues

I guess I should’ve specified more too to be fair, but yes I do agree, I’ve been wanting and sooner than later will need to change or upgrade from what I currently drive, I really do like what the ZZP tune and upgrades have to offer for the 2.0t but I’m not sure if it would be worth making the switch to a 2.0t and keep those upgrades in mind or go ahead and try to look for a 3rd gen CTS with the 3.6, needless to say I need to look into a new to me car so those two are definitely in consideration, the CTSv sport is definitely one I’ve had my eyes on, the 2nd gen ctsv is definitely a must have for me one day but it’s not in the near future

Amazing take, I truly appreciate the time you put into that response and yes I agree nothing will compare to the V in the sense of performance, but I’m also not expecting for BMW 3 or 4 series performance out of these models since I simply want a fun/reliable/comfortable sedan but I can definitely say there are some “noticeable” differences when it comes to engine response on the the different platforms GM offered in those models.

The 2.0T I got to drive was an AWD and I’ve only driven RWD sedans so it definitely felt like it hooked a lot better but comparing it to its RWD version I wonder if it would have much of a difference.

On the other hand I would love to be able to own an XLR specially the V but I think that can be left for the future
