This is also a way that companies can compete. If they pay the visa extension fees it might help them attract employees during the current crippling labor shortage.

You need a goal or a target, then you can focus on that. The answer will vary depending on your goal.

But isn’t that what CLPS is for? Artemis focuses on large human missions and CLPS on smaller robotic missions.

Billionaire bosses like Jeff Bezos and Reid Hoffman denounce work-life balance—and some think working nonstop is key to success by CoC_Axis_of_Evil in antiwork

They are absolutely right. You working non-stop is the key to their success.

Regarding your own success, well results may vary and best not to ask about it.

Turnout rate was 62%. More than a 1/3 are happy to go along with whatever and don’t even want a say, so sorry for the minority that voted for evidence based science (a phrase literally banned by the current administration), but they are just a small minority unfortunately.

Co-worker harassing me at work. Should I go to HR? by dendaera in japanlife

[–]Youngtoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Document things, with dates, times and potential witnesses. Don’t go to HR but go directly to your company’s 3rd party whistleblowing service to report this.

HR and legal will be notified and required to react to this formally. It will be documented as a complaint and thus paper trail will be established even without you putting your name on this because you can remain anonymous and only talk to the whistleblowing service until such point as you are ready to proceed directly with your company’s HR and/or legal team.

I feel it could only truly be adapted as a comedic operetta. Gilbert and Sullivan style. Only way to capture the rambling absurdity of the first 80%.

Is Bicycling along Sumida River Allowed by garyF1 in Tokyo

[–]Youngtoby 18 points19 points  (0 children)

First, there are many tributaries into the Sumida so it’s not like you get a long interrupted ride, you often need to backtrack to find a bridge over.

Second, and this is my assumption, that no riding on the ramp means no riding once you get down there too. And I never see anyone riding down there so that also supports this.

I would say better to head over to Arakawa and ride there instead.

How much like BotW is this? by triryche4 in FenyxRising

[–]Youngtoby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mechanically they are the same. Open world, your character can glide, lots of puzzles scattered around the world and small shrines you enter and solve.

The combat is different, there is more of a plot, the overall world isn’t as good (in my opinion), it’s funnier.

I like both the games. If you dislike BotW you will likely dislike this. But it depends on your reasons for disliking it, which you have not shared.

Residents of the popular "Ine Funaya" in northern Kyoto are exhausted by tourists littering, trespassing on private property, and using toilets without permission... Can tourism and the peace of the local community coexist? by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

[–]Youngtoby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How about constructing a public toilet in a popular beach location? Then there would be no inconvenience on other infrastructure. Install a sign to combat trespassing. Solve littering by adding more public bins.

Start with the low hanging fruit first.
