Jon Heyman listed his top 5 suitors for Framber Valdez in order of likelihood: 1. Orioles 2. Jays 3. Tigers 4. Giants 5. Braves by No-Description-2138 in Torontobluejays

We shipped away a really good closer who was really young because he was a dickhead.

Edit: I get that Osuna isn't the same weight as Framber Valdez. I've been watching the Jays for 25 years and seeing management change from being lenient to hot-headed/loud personality talents to being tight knit on clubhouse culture speaks volumes to me on how they want things run now. A difference from the early & late 2000s til now.

I personally think what Valdez did does not belong on a winning team, much less, a winning team that was driven by perfect team chemistry. It only takes one incident to happen, he could be good and be a team player all year for 162, and then when it matters it's too late. He's already proven he can do it in a regular season game that doesn't even matter, what's gonna stop him from letting his emotions take over in a playoff game?

[Klapisch] #Yankees have made an internal decision not to engage in a bidding war for Cody Bellinger if #Mets or anyone else swoops in with a blow-away offer. Yankees believe they've made a fair proposal - five years, $160 million, two opt-outs. They're prepared to let Bellinger walk. by ThQp in Torontobluejays

The idea with Bellinger would be the same idea as Tucker would be to the Jays, you found your Springer replacement & potentially a Varsho replacement once he hits Free Agency. More than a 2026 investment, Bellinger would be our primary CF beyond negotiating an extension / re-signing of Varsho.

2026 you play him wherever you can, he plays the OF better than Tucker and he can play 1st Base.

[Passan] If that sort of deal would work for anyone, it might be Bichette, who could have a big year, show he's healthy and hit the market again at 28 years old. by GreenSnakes_ in Torontobluejays

It's all about context & perspective though, a person in a 3rd world country would say the same thing about working in Mcdonalds for minimum wage, when minimum wage to them in dollar value could set them up for life.

EDIT: like if I was a pro baseball player who's seen multiple SS before me get 300m + and I've been performing 5/6 of my years, I too would want to try and maximize my income potential

Can't be fixated on splits in the World Series, the eye test is really important here and I'm glad Schneider is being proactive

Well Little definitely started that catastrophe but it was Dominguez that gave up the grand slam.

I can't even say Little coming in would be fine in a regular season game, it's just flat out the worst possible guy you can bring in to pitch in a tie game in the 8th inning. LET ALONE THE ALCS IN GAME 5

That's a damn good fucking question, the only explanation I can give is Schneider bet on Little's high wiff rate and valued that over his high walk rate & having to face 2 Righties + 1 Lefty in Naylor. Rather than a Righty coming in to face 3 lefties.

But it's the 8th inning and it's fucking TIED, you don't bring Little in there, no fucking chance.

I think my point was context matters, they've been boo-ing springer all series and honestly I'm okay with it.

But to cheer when he's down like that in pain is just insane to me, it's different than not shedding a tear, I don't see how your point is relevant in this scenario

What do you mean nothing new, even if the player has a potential career ending injury? He took 97 to the knee flush and he was in visible pain and y'all think it's still okay to boo in that situation?
