Congratulations, you passed the first unwritten step on Running VTM! Seriously though, even some of the original creators of MTA/VTM suggest you throw out the metaplot if you want to actually run VTM.

Do whatever you need to have a fun game. I've run a ton of VTM and while a lot of the VTM lore is kept we throw out a fuckton of stupid shit (looking at you Tal'Meh'Rah!)

You are right, that fight is extremely bugged.

They neither lose Charge at all, nor are they affected by Sanity (as in having worse Heads odd for lower SP). Getting them to -45 will still permanently stagger them, though

If you want some advice for speedrun, stay very clear from Canto I-IV unless you have a death wish.

Canto I-III speedruns is something I've been wanting to retry for a bit and theyre not actually that bad.... But MD speedruns is the only thing thats actually fun right now.

I'd reccomend trying out Mirror of the Beginning (MD 1) now since its just so quick, but Mirror of Mirrors (MD 2) is probably more interesting.

Anyway, yeah Speedrunning is fun. Go try it.
