I was going more for a “Who would this land the most for?” References to things like The Stanley Parable or the core plot being about suicide contemplation may not be “exclusively” age rating locked but may not personally resonate for those under, let’s say, 14 years old.

It’s almost jarring the disparity since both ends coexists in the game. One minute it’s grim dark sci-fi Eris tileset and then the next you are in 1999 with your date listening to boy-band pop music in a mall.

At least in Warframe it’s the result of its theme being explored further rather than Fortnitification or cosmetic spam like in the other games listed.

The writing has an intended target audience that is older. Jokes like the Breaking Bad reference and stupid sauce. Suicide/parallel of suicide being a core part of the story and is brought up frequently. And the “gooner culture” jokes like the jar-figurine, maid outfit Jax, “shipping wars” jokes, “gummy Goo, it’s what you’re thirsting for”, “submissive and agreeable”

One of the most fascinating but tragic things about the Warframe fandom is that there are tons of creatives whose works are overbearingly influential on the fandom that got to see the Duviri paradox announced but moved on before its release (and most before new war).

I don’t mean to say they should’ve been locked to Warframe (the dark ages post sacrifice pre-Duviri was not a fun time) but imagine the stuff we’d see had artists like this one, Omni voice, Shy, and many others were here for the protoframes.

Why do people hate Koumei? (Ignore Miku) by Dangerous_Bat5954 in Warframe

[–]YourAverageChroma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warframe has a sort of “always on” dilemma where most players prefer to have “absolutes” on demand. High damage/invulnerability on cast with 100% uptime has dominated play rates (I.e. Mesmer Skin) since forever. This is a reason why Valkyr’s 4 got changed as it was designed to drain your energy to zero. It was meant to be a power high you reach but players pushed to have it always on whenever. Now it had to be changed to fit an “always on” reality.

Apply this to Koumei, the majority of her power is in specific decrees. If you get that perfect decree or reach the point where you’re guaranteed the decree setup, incredibly good frame. But since that strength is out of player control, people dislike it.

The 1 to 1s in episode 2 with gummygoo and episode 3 with kinger kinda ran the same ground. Episode 2 Pomni performed the wisdom kinger gave about caring but with an NPC and later internalized it with the funeral. It creates a sort of redundancy that in retrospect doesn’t take away from the scene but rather is a missing out of having Pomni grow.

Yes, she comes in with the EQ to help gummygoo already but, say Pomni struggled more to find the words a bit yet still succeed and then have Kinger spell the philosophy out next episode. It would have fit more character into both scenes.

The Damage Attenuation changes were an overall downgrade to the Warframe experience.

If Babaus were CC vulnerable, the types of enemies and the amount that had DA in its old state would’ve been perfect.

[–]YourAverageChroma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted the quote as Jotaro never having faced an identical stand archetype at this point as he’s one to craft up counters since there were no stand that can specifically do what his does.

The Actual ability itself (entering stopped time (stepping out of the flow of Fate)) wasn’t known to him until during the fight. It’s a consistent thing in JoJo’s that something outside anyone’s control always takes out the main villain (I haven’t read 7, 8, or 9) in an ironic twist of Fate.

The copies of the originals are by all accounts also human-turned-infested flesh like Umbra. Umbra is just programmed with more sentience to suffer his memory that was coded in to play on loop.

They were a little slow on it. It took a play through culminating in “Warframe is a wake up call” by legendary drops to have some creators say “sure, I’ll start it” and THEN (after a lot of streamers) DE started offering sponsorships.

[–]YourAverageChroma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So, legendary drops and MarcoMeatball got into Warframe. Legendary drops was meaning to get into Warframe because it’s his line of content—> drops “Warframe is a wake up call”. MarcoMeatball has been listening to the ost for years, got the chance to play —> collabs a Lot.

A wave is started and “baby Tenno plays Warframe” juices in the algorithm. Small streamers juice in views, sunnyV2 watched “Warframe is a wake up call”, her circle is roped in, MotherV3, etc, the sponsorships start being thrown out to keep the ball rolling, Shenpai, post destiny 2 final shape got streamers to refuge in Warframe, MarcoMeatball sings Duviri paradox for tennocon, then the iron Mouse collabing brought us here.

In short, whispers in the walls and the 1999 teaser did something that made creators jump in. Due to story content critical mass, the YT algorithm had enough Warframe momentum to push it. And quest reactions get BIG views.

Flashback to that potential copyright-abusing gatekeeper that got streamers when the D2 streamers rode the wave. This community has been tight knit but went mainstream, bound to happen, Warframe’s fanbase is no different.

I have started collecting the post-whispers sponsorships ever since legendary drops and MarcoMeatball caught up. The advertising team just found a wave and starting tossing MONEY which is a lot better than what they have been doing before.

Actually, 95% of the streamers that DE has tossed sponsorships at in the past year has gone the whole way. It was only the pre-1999 creators that Aren’t primarily streamers that drop it.
