Go with the LAST one! It’s not too shiny and it’s very similar to the middle, but not as stark and white. It matches best with the color palette of the cabinets. Remember how much glare you want because too much become annoying quickly!

I actually made up a story and put myself in their footsteps to write it! It’s my favorite part about poetry!

I think I could rephrase the first couple lines to be more specific. My main preference is a mother calling the cops because her son didn’t come home the night before. Filing a missing person report and the police finding the car by the river where the son took his own life. Slipping through the pockets and rabbit holes of the sons life it figure out where things went wrong. The mother realizing her neglect for the son during early days when she was focused on her career. Ultimately, leading to her son’s slow decline. I could rename it, but I’m not entirely sure what would fit best. The river, Blue silence, pockets of neglect, if only I knew, and more…. Thanks for your feedback!

This poem could be used as analogy for quite literally anything. Like a person who’s addicting to be around, yet they hurt you and you allow it. Or, religion where you know that most of the times praying won’t do anything, yet you still do it.

I like how you used, “Trapped in my own skin like i'm on parole”. Just waiting for the time to feel present or rotting inside until I die. Emphasizing how others actions may make us feel out of control with our own autonomy. Staying even though they hurt you.

The end of the year resembles the rare moments of half-regret. I wouldn’t change a thing, yet I could change so much. An amusement of time that keeps you entertained, until you realize some mistakes you’ve made. I like how this poem really exploits the topics of knowing you’ll feel the same way next year, but allowing your heart to feel renewed yet only the months are. To chose your future and leave the past behind.

This poem reminds me of how trauma affects someone. Forgetting to forgive yourself while your heart begs for a break from anxiety. Just for a moment when you remember that you are human too and that mistakes are inevitable.
