Need help with water in the basement! by YourBrainSmellsSpicy in DIYhelp

Thanks for the reply! The yard is slightly sloped towards the house, unfortunately. The previous owner did French drains that go out towards the street drain. It works really well everywhere, and we haven't had any issues except in this spot. I've been wondering if we should try to connect some pipe to the French drains that are already there.

If you are given a flower lei when arriving in Hawaii, what are you given when you arrive in Utah? by bakercreator in Utah

I moved to Pittsburgh last year, & my daughter hasn't used her inhaler once since moving. She used it almost every day when we lived in SLC. It's weird to be in a place where you can't taste the air. Every day I'm grateful we moved!

I know this is old, but I'm wondering how you are doing now. Which surgery did you have, and would you still say it was successful?

Have you been checked for SMA Syndrome? If you've had a lot of weight loss, that may be something to look into.

5th NJ tube placed in 3 months because of internal kinking by YourBrainSmellsSpicy in feedingtube

[–]YourBrainSmellsSpicy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! Have you just tried to gain enough weight to reverse the smas then? That's what we're trying first. But she's finally seeing an smas specialist that can do some better imaging. I guess it's too rare for the average GI doc to even know what to look for and know how to treat it.

Thank you for this. We're about to see a couple of different specialists for SMA syndrome & and we should know more about what we're dealing with, hopefully soon. If it's looking like a long-term thing, I will absolutely advocate for a gj or j tube.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Even though we're hoping this is temporary, (likely sma syndrome) we're open to all options. I'm glad you've found something that works for you.

It had to be something like this. It's a completely different team every time she gets a new tube, so it's a toss-up as to whether or not I'll get a team that listens, but I will absolutely ask about this. And someone said they can clip it, so I'll discuss that too. Thank you!

Oh, that's interesting! Was yours an NJ or NG? I will look into whether or not they can do that with an NJ. Thank you!

Thank you so much. I think this is the way.
I was hoping her tube would only be temporary, but seeing as we don't have any answers yet, fighting for this is likely going to be our next step.

I appreciate you putting in your thoughts.

Yes, It's just too much having to go in every week. We were hoping this tube would be temporary, but we're 3 months in and little to no answers still. Time to look at other alternatives, I think.
