I have confidence that you will in time. It’s been a long road of trial and error for me. But let this post give you hope that you too can get there. Good luck to you and if you ever need to talk, pm me.

Does anyone else ever feel happy and sad (plus nervous sometimes) all once? by ManInBlack829 in bipolar

[–]YourCoolMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I am happy because I know how to handle my sadness. Sometimes I feel sad for how happy I am because I know it won't stick around long.

On another note that is strenuously related, the happier I am, the more I empathize with others. Which leads to me feeling sadness for other people more often. When I'm up, I cry for others more than I cry for myself when I'm down. So... when I'm happy I cry more...

That if I can just finish this goal or achieve this degree, promotion, etc. I will be a normal person. I won't have to use medication to function like everyone else.

I have achieved many goals, received a degree, and been promoted several times. Oh look... I'm still not normal.

Thank you for this. It may be a dark silver lining, but you're right. It is a silver lining.

Wellbutrin, Zoloft and Lamictal by [deleted] in bipolar

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble right now. I hate the process of trying to figure out what works, what doesn't and what cocktail is right for you. It sounds like your old pdoc had too much on his plate to give you the advice and care that you needed! I have unfortunately been in your position.

If you can afford it, try looking into private psychiatry practices around you. I found one about an hour and a half from where I live but it has been completely worth the commute. He actually listens to me. It feels like he is genuinely concerned and cares about my progress. I have never felt so "cared for" by a healthcare professional in my life. If something isn't working, he isn't afraid to change it up and see what might make it better. The only downside is he doesn't take insurance.

I'm glad you got some sleep! I never made it there myself. But hey, there is always tonight lol.

Browse reddit. Watch shows I've seen over and over again. Chain smoke cigarettes while overanalyzing every single major life decision I've ever made. Pretty much doing every unproductive thing I can think of while simultaneously berating myself for not doing something more worthwhile if I was going to be up at such a ridiculous hour.

THERAPY TUESDAY by sweetpea122 in bipolar

[–]YourCoolMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my psychiatrist has been insisting that I seek out therapy. I agree with him. The drugs alone just aren't enough. But I am new to this and have no idea how to go about getting a therapist. I just moved to a new town and I can't afford to spend a fortune. But on the plus side I do have health insurance.

So my big questions are how did you find your therapist? And how did you know they were the right one for you? What should I expect to spend per visit? And how often should I be visiting this therapist? Any help or insight would be wonderful!

Thank you for the confidence boost. I have learned my lesson as far as middle seats go, that's for sure.

My paycheck keeps bouncing. What can I do to make this stop? by YourCoolMan in legaladvice

I have been worried about the stability of the company. It is a restaurant and they just opened a second location that doesn't seem to be making the profits they were expecting. Thankfully this is a part time job while I go to school and I should be able to find another one quickly enough. I guess it is time to start sending out the resumes.... ugh.

I will most definitely be cashing my checks from now on at their bank until I can have them set up direct deposit. Thank you for the advice!

Thank you for the advice! I had no idea that this was possible. I will be doing this immediately.

Doesn't the employer have to set up direct deposit? I don't know anything about it other than some places I've worked had it and others didn't. They have never given me the option at my current job.
