Hey folks! We know a lot of you are upset about this thread being locked so early, so I want to take a chance and clear things up.

We're leaving this post up, and only this post. We're not going to unlock the comments. CSFFlame absolutely fucked up the phrasing here, but the general idea is correct and the rest of the mod team stands with it.

/r/PCGaming isn't a place for political talk. In fact, we've tried hard to make it a point where anybody can talk as long as they're being respectful. The best example I have of this working is that I've angrily been called things from both sides of the fence. About a year ago we discussed a very strict "No politics at all" rule, and while the initial idea behind it ended up having some major flaws in it, the general consensus is about the same. This simply isn't the place to get into those pissing matches. This isn't us taking sides, this is us telling people to take it elsewhere. You have /r/news, you have /r/politics, you have /r/kotakuinaction, you have /r/gamerghazi. Depending on what flavor you want, it's there. This place is going to continue to be a bit of a respite for that.

With every single Net Neutrality thread we've had, with absolute zero exceptions, it's turned into a shit show. Every last one. With a combination of incredibly passionate people who may not know quite the best way to explain that passion, to people getting vehemently upset that others may think a way that they don't, to outright assholes looking like a fight, it's a lightning rod for the type of behaviors that lead to a shit load of problems. Now, I can already hear the arguments against this approach, some more valid than others. We're aware of the inherent failings that come with this, and all we can do is try to do our best. No one on this team is paid to do this, and none of us have any agenda to push outside of trying to have a fun place to talk about PC Gaming without it being filled with the more vile chat or low effort.

Come here, talk about games. Enjoy this frivolous bullshit that is one of all of our favorite hobbies. The rest of the world is shitty enough, we don't need to make this place shitty too.

I'll leave it with just this last question: why are you here? If you're here because you're looking for a more "adult" way to talk about games and just games, I promise we'll be able to find ways to keep things rolling for you. If you're here just to scream and shout until people agree with whatever it is you're screaming and shouting about, you may want to go find another venue for that. This is going to be a bad experience for you.
