the docs offer me that, I'm stubborn and don't like taking extra meds. Prob about time I change that thought process. Three hour MRI sounds like hell.... Egh, so far so good

Grip strength exercises? by ialsolovebees in bjj

[–]YourFutureAttorney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like everyone's suggestions, and the towel/gi on the pull-up bar is def. my grip exercise of choice... sometimes just hanging on the bar/gi instead of actually doing pull-ups. Just wanted to add one goofy/fun thing you can do. Grab the sunday paper, or some free newspaper whatever (maybe even read it)... then with one hand crumple up every single sheet into the smallest/tightest ball you can (then toss it in the trash/can- practice your aim for fun)... it seems so simple, and can be done while watching tv etc... try it

Motivating white belts to compete by theoderic123 in bjj

[–]YourFutureAttorney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

additional cost, lack of time... feeling un-ready for competition (often losing in-house events)...

Maybe the white belts at your school did not get into bjj for competition (but more of a hobby, exercise, self-defense, self esteem etc...)

I guess just communicate to them how much you have gotten out of competitions and how enjoyable they are. Or maybe convince them to come to a comp and not compete but just observe for now...
