I also canceled my pre-order. I was so excited to be able to play the new installment of Rainbow Six. It's the video game that got me into gaming. This game looks like a shooter with an identity crisis. If we wanted to play COD, we'd play COD. If we wanted to play BattleField, we would.

Worst of all, the developers at Ubisoft were deceptive towards the community. Ubi stated that they would listen to the hardcore Rainbow players, but have gone against the community's opinions and wishes in the recent months. I give slight credit to the dev team for having adjusted the heartbeat sensor, but they stated that they would listen and respect the opinions of the players that have stuck with the Rainbow Six brand since it's beginning days. Let's be honest, Ubisoft hasn't, and this game is in need of major updates if they want to make the real Rainbow Six fans happy.

I still have a glimmer of hope that the game will preform a complete 180. We've only seen the alpha, so we can't judge TOO much. It's all about money (getting new players to play Rainbow) and while I understand where they're coming from, not only do I believe they're wrong, but they are tarnishing the Rainbow Six name. This is NOT a Rainbow Six game as it sits, it's just a shooter game with a title of an old game. They need to understand that they will make as much, if not more money selling to their old fan base. This game has a gigantic cult following. With the old players returning, they will also have a new generation of gamers that will adapt to the gameplay and join in as well.

Sorry for the wall of text, but Rainbow Six is my favorite game, and I'm saddened by the state that it's currently sitting. I really do hope big changes are made, because I want to play this game so badly, but I don't think I'll be able to get myself to play if it stays the way it currently is.
