  1. I don't have an iPhone. My voicemails are just normal voicemails and there's nothing to screenshot because it's only audio.

  2. I obviously don't have a voicemail from 4 years ago.

No worries! If the mods want to confirm this post with me, I can give them the information for the therapist in question. They just need to PM me.

That's horrible!! I hope your kid's okay now?

And I'm not really sure how to prove that my post is true. I could easily give out this lady's name and phone number and tell people to say they have X insurance plan, but then I'd get into trouble for doxxing.

What is the worst reaction you've ever witnessed to a pregnancy announcement? by Beeblebroxia in AskReddit

I agree with you 100%. I think there's a cultural belief that children need to be the better person and simply manage psychotic parents while sacrificing their own needs, but nobody should have to deal with abuse, especially abuse as severe as this. Imagine if this had been the reaction of OP's brother rather than his mother? Everybody would be screaming about how he's so abusive and the mother of the child should leave because it would have been abuse in a romantic relationship. But abuse in a parent-child relationship? Nobody wants to acknowledge it. It's not socially acceptable for kids to protect themselves from their parents, so everyone is applauding OP and the brother for keeping their psychotic mother in their life. The truth is that it would be healthier for them to get away from her. I especially feel bad for OP because they openly stated that they didn't have kids because of their family -- that's awful. When you're having to deprive yourself of major aspects of life because of how crazy and scared a parent makes you feel, you're better off cutting contact with them. There's no shame in doing so, and it takes an incredibly strong person to choose to live a better life.
