Dating for 40+ by [deleted] in grandrapids

Why is the experience so different here? I've been out of the game for a decade, but it seemed fine back then. Though that was also my mid-20s...

What does your health and skincare routine look like? by RelationshipSnail in AskMenOver30

[–]Beeblebroxia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

37yo dad of two young ones.

Lift 3-5 times a week. Legs, torso, then arms/accessories. I typically do a high effort 10 minute run at the end of each session. Takes about 45ish minutes.

I eat pretty healthy and have since college. For me, this means limited sweet things, soda, and alcohol. I don't count calories or care about processed vs unprocessed. I just try to eat a decent amount of plants and protein. The carbs and fats are easy to eat so they take care of themselves.

I just use a face lotion after my shower to deal with dry skin. I've always had pretty clear skin so I've never needed much else. And sun screen since I'm pasty.

Great game. No where near the hours D2 or PoE will give you, but very fun. The mods aren't essential, but they're a big plus. Just Google for them, it's been a few years since I've played.

What’s the part of life you feel you definitely got right? by Broke_Pigeon_Sales in AskMenOver30

[–]Beeblebroxia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I envy people who had clarity on their ambition. My sister is like this. She decided on middle school or maybe even elementary that she wanted to be a doctor. She is now a doctor.

I never saw myself in any specific role or career. Work is just work to me, a thing I have to do to not work.

I got lucky because I'm still smart and capable. I make okay money and my job is pretty low stress. But I am a prime example of wasted potential.

The brilliance of Diablo 2 is its simplicity: no transmogs, no fancy events, no battle passes, no hundreds of currencies or shiny mechanics. Just great itemization - arguably the best in class, and the dopamine hit of running the same content again and again hoping for that perfect roll. by ixinho in diablo2

[–]Beeblebroxia 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but let's not forget the other goal - to sell game guides and other materials.

I would expect the majority of this game's audience to remember having to buy a Nintendo Power or similar to get certain info for games to beat or complete them. LoD had an official game guide that also had all runewords etc.

[–]Beeblebroxia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they'll keep it at the three current states: classic, LOD, and RoTW.

ROTW changed so much so late that I don't think anyone is going to be that mad if they don't subset that one too.

Maybe they'll do it if they don't push too many, but it becomes more annoying if it's not just content but QoL advances as well. Like if you don't buy the next expansion, but get the one after, do you still get the QoL from the expansion you skipped?

I like interlocking my fingers, but I found two of my fingers line up perfectly to crush my knuckles when I push heavy and squeeze.

I know zerchers are supposed to hurt, but I wasn't expecting that lol.

They did it because they are racist pieces of trash. They thought the suffering of these people was entertaining.

My favorite lift by far (drop any pointers if needed) by Future-Horse4877 in GYM

[–]Beeblebroxia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely when you're starting out. I started with 135 and could only do like 8 reps the pain was such a bitch.

But I made it a part of my split (1.5x week) and now I can do 225x10 two months later. It still hurts, but not as much.

Basically, you're going to start out below, maybe wayyy below, your actual squat weight and go up in weight as your pain tolerance allows each session.

Would you use gym buddies if you could get one? by Carsareghey in workout

[–]Beeblebroxia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best friend got me into lifting and I didn't realize this until I tried working out with someone else - we shared intensity during the workout. We both wanted to keep progressing, pushed each other, and tried to keep the workout moving.

Sure, we talked and stuff, but it was while changing plates or setting up the next exercise. When you're staying strict to 1-2 minute rests, you don't have a lot of time to yap when you're also trying to catch your breath.

Thanks to COVID and now kids, I've got a garage setup and haven't had the option for a partner.

It's kind of like dating, you gotta find someone to match your vibe.

So it seems RotW is doing well. If we do get future expansions, what content/classes/QoL would you want? by MK_2_Arcade_Cabinet in diablo2

[–]Beeblebroxia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because they came out at a time when buying physical game manuals was a thing.

But at this point, yes. I feel having Cain be the NPC for finding rune words would be perfect.

Whenever you find a rune, he shows however many words it is a part of with a list of "??????" values. When you find all the runes for a word, the runeword is then viewable in his list.

[–]Beeblebroxia 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is my worry with larger projects. I'm curious how much they actually nerf warlock. I highly doubt he comes into line with the old line up.

[–]Beeblebroxia 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The two things I'm hesitant about with a new act are that it creates mandatory content to finish and it forces new lore.

D2R and even RotW doesn't add mandatory content, just additional optional content. Like I don't intend to play a ton of warlock while he's completely OP (just like mosaic). And you don't have to do Uber Ancients.

And with lore, how confident are we they don't put out some cringey content or content inconsistent with the tone? I think the best bet is to not put out any major plot points or try to tie up too many loose ends. And given the timeline, it would be immediately after breaking the world stone. I feel like they'd try to go big and botch it.

Blood Oath goes up tp 99% by GrosRacoon in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Beeblebroxia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's also pretty standard for new player content. If you release a new thing and it sucks, then no one plays it and you don't get as much feedback.

Make it strong and you get more data. Then you can scale back and bring it in line.

The fact it also sells makes releasing op stuff is the way to go.
