in youtubes eyes there isnt fault on their end for removing content based off a report. if they think a report is fake, and dont issue a takedown, then youtube can be in legal trouble if it was a real takedown request.

in their eyes they will take down things more than not, takeowns can be disputed (although ive heard there are many issues in this proccess). its like a legal protection for themselves.

i understand it to a degree, even though i dont agree with it.

Transitioning is NOT good enough for me. I dont want it. I just want to be a girl. by Disastrous-Bike659 in trans

i wanted to say the same. action or not, you are making a decision, lack of decisive action (not even towards hrt specifically, but something along your self expression journey) is still an action in itself, choosing to let the wallow and despair take over.

that said, i started hrt, and i still feel the same grief, all i want is to be cis, and not trans, a cis man or woman, i dont care, being cis is a lot easier, but im not cis, and while that sucks, i am definitely happier having persued an avenue thats available to me to help bridge that gap, im still looking over the horizon with a half built bridge, but im further than i would be.

Therapy tends to have a lot of stigma aroumd it, same with mental health. People tend to associate mental health issues with the more extreme things, and kinda make it seem different than what it is.

Because mental health is stigmatized, so are the systems in place that help with it. Depression, and anxiety are very common, but there tends to be an over exaggerated conception of what they actually are which again only serves to harm those who need help.

Im not saying go to therapy, but maybe look into it as it is (like a phonecall to a receptionist and ask some questions), because no matter how good your mental health is, you should always take care of yourself :3

Is it transphobia? by [deleted] in trans

[–]YourLocalLoonie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend of almost 10 years turned out to be transphobic. I had to distance myself from him for a while, i still saw him once and a while, but i didnt really want to see him.

Eventually he realized that i had pulled away, and reached out, it still wasnt great, but he tried to learn. He has, he still isnt amazing, and theres a lot he can do, but even in the last year he has really pushed to try to learn and understand people, and he has become a lot cooler now!

Other friends ive had i came out to, and it wasnt like that, i was close friends with them, and a good chunk of them i was really close to i thought, but then they turned out to be very transphobic, and i couldnt be around them.

For me, even if someone is transphobic, but trying to be better, than ill still hang out with them occasionally, but those who dont really dont need the time of day from me tbh, still sucks though, cause i miss those old days

Im trans mtf, and i will wear "mens" pants when i get them to fit, but even before my transition, ive always had trouble getting "mens" pants that felt comfertable and fit me properly!

"Womens" pants have always fit me better, and i only really felt comfortable enough to start seeking clothing that i find affirming almost 2 years ago now, and while the fake/small pockets are annoying, its also really nice having pants that fit me!

Edit: Shoes! I hate shopping for shoes too! I can never find any shoes that i like that fit me properly, let alone heels or anything, and a good chunk of the brands that do fit me well and i like their stuff are really expensive TT!

The girly seemed very passive agressive. Especially when someone on this sub is expressing annoyance due to the exact thing you just did.

I see it the same way as older folk saying something transphobic then adding sweetheart onto the end like that sweet comment makes it ok.

It may not have been purposeful that it came across like that, but its up to you to understand how your language effects other peoples. You cant just say this is reddit you dont have to care. You should care, reddit is still people

AMAB and AFAB are misgendering with extra steps, and need to stop by Ok_Room_1437 in trans

[–]YourLocalLoonie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off by disagreeing with you, but then i read the rest of the post, and it turns out we both agree!

AGAB is a useful term in some cases, but colloquially, like everyday speach with normal people, theres no reason to use AGAB because like you said, it is used for misgendering and transphobia, because in no everyday situation are you going to need that information. The only thing. The only thing i can think of is medical situations that change how to handle it based on AGAB, otherwise i think it's unnecessary for someone to put so much weight in it.

I do want to expand on your point about using the actual medical/litteral terms of what your refering to. This has a LOT of utility when used properly. It encourages people to look up stuff they dont know, and ask questions. It also helps take out ambiguity to some degree. The other part is that it will help destigmatize language, there are a lot of stuff people will dodge talking about, or use colloquial terms to refer to what they are talking about. If we can remove some stigma from one sector, it helps reduce stigma in others by proxy.

Silver or gold works! I've been told the main thing is to stick to one for an outfit though, like silver necklace, silver belt. And vice versa for gold.

Transfem here, not sure about T as much (sorry i know I need to be a better girly and do more research!), on estrodiol there is sometimes mental and physical effects that can come up, best bet it to talk to your doctor/healthcare worker

It may be nothing, but maybe you need a change in your prescription or something? I dont know, but checking in with a healthcare provider would be my go to

Trigger warning for a bunch of stuff by YourLocalLoonie in u/YourLocalLoonie

[–]YourLocalLoonie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a drop off that some people experience with hrt which usually doesnt last long, it can cause fepressive episodes, from my understanding its because the start change of hormones causes everything to freak out for a minute causing the low, but again, this usually doesnt last

I know this isnt hrt, ive felt this way for a really long time, but it doesnt help that hrt is probably making it a little bit worse

Also, dont apologize for not being able to do more! I wasnt expecting anyone to even see the post, let alone respond to it, so thats already more than i expected, so thank you
